Mafia History & Timeline
=================

:: Pre-Network
The early years of Runescape saw several Mafia pop up over the years prior and alongside to our timeline, they were often standalone clans popular amongst F2P worlds partaking in Pking and free trade, others evolved from early F2P clans into Mafia genre and even eventually join the network. Our history begins at the end of 2006 with the formation of two families and an alliance.

:: Mafia City, Verona Family & The Network
Late 2006 saw the creation of two families, Mafia City and The Verona Family by their Dons, Mattyworrier and Roan De Wise. Each had prior leadership experience, Matty from leading an ingame Mafia until this point, and Roans involvement in Medici Corp, running his own nightclub. Upon meeting their goals aligned and they formed an unbreakable alliance, an alliance which would be expanded upon as new families arrived on the scene to form the backbone of what we call the network today.

:: Mafia City vs Kingdom of Varrock
Having settled into W83 upon its creation, Mafia City ran into the Kingdom of Varrock and began having disputes over its turf which sparked the inter Mafia-POC conflicts that would span the years to come. After countless raids by KoV on Mafia City racketeering operations in Varrock, it was time to take up arms and war was declared. A brutal battle took place in May 2007 at the Rouges Castle which was also crashed by pkers resulting in all parties dying. The battle was agreed a stalemate and the turf would continue to be disputed until the following year.

:: 99th Mafia
Emerging in June 07 from a restructured pking clan under Harsh Chance on W99, they quickly became renowned within our growing community in part due to the vast wealth he had, "investing" millions in racket operations in other families which quickly bought the trust and influence of other dons. They would often find themselves in conflict with the RSPD who would raid their meetings.


:: Irish Mafia
A mafioso, known as Kajukembo111 created the Irish Mafia which dominated the free trade market. Creating a legacy of his own, Kaj grew his family to be the most wealthy mafia in all history.
Kaju alongside Jamo111 formed The Ando Family late Nov.07 so he had left Irish by then.

:: The Lavan Family
A small scale family was created by Mean 2 U Man for the duration of the Summer 07. They primarily capitalized on mining businesses, extorting low price ore from small scale miners to become a bulk distributor. During its short run they where involved in all ongoing network affairs before disbanding at the end of Summer.

:: The Lancastrian Family
Founded in June 07 by Lancaster157, he brought his family into what was our small network and became close allies to Verona and Mafia City. They where part of the first formation of a council in July 07. They eventually disbanded in Oct.07 with Lancaster briefly joining Verona before being assassinated by them and then the Ando family. He then went on to form UNSC in June 08 and became one of the main forces in The Grand Alliance in 09, fighting against his former allies.


:: Council of Bosses
An attempt was made to further consolidate the power of the families in June 07 by forming a council of bosses with an elected boss of bosses to take the helm. The meeting took place on 21.Jul.07 and just before the vote was held the host compound was raided by RSPD to break up the council, it was discovered that Jxac, right hand man to Harsh Chance had betrayed us all and called them in.

:: Corleone Family
The late summer of 2007 saw a breakaway group from the Verona Family following a dispute. They created the Corleone Family, headed by Reinhardt200 and went on to be a main family within the Network despite initially being classed as outcasts of Verona. Leadership was handed down to Tonyhughes in Dec.07 who continued to expand the family and help see it prosper.


:: Changes in 99th
By Autumn 2007, Harsh Chance was losing interest in the game and his account on the verge of being locked due to his countless run ins with corrupt player mods and by end of the year it was. Foreseeing this, he carried out a transition of 99th to his chosen successor, Mcboy45. However following his departure, Mcboy45 was overthrown and replaced by Booperdee2 and Hells Fire 7 who led as double dons for several months successfully.

:: Mad Times
In the months following the raid on the council, another figure emerged named Tony Madness and began disrupting network affairs and attempting to cause conflict between the families. Tensions were heightened through this ordeal but eventually things settled down with minimal damage. It was later revealed that this was secretly Harsh Chance who was on an offensive against 99th for ousting his successor Mcboy45.


:: Closure of 99th
Arguably in part to the plans of Tony Madness, 99th Mafia had been the target for campaigns of aggression from several clans and had seen its memberlist dwindle. By March 2008 it was a shell of its former self with Booperdee2 leading alone. He finally closed it down after being recruited into Mafia City to start a new life there.


:: Jxac vs Mafia
Following his great betrayal, Jxac formed the Eclipson Empire and swore to take down all families but was often nothing more than talk. However one battle did break out between them and Verona in late 2007 in which a 5v5 fight would take place at the North East wilderness peninsula ruins. Unsurprisingly both sides turned up en mass but Verona was able to swiftly cut down their enemy.

:: The Ando Family
Founded by former Mafia City consigliere Jamo111 and Irish Mafia don Kajukemo111 in late Nov.07 as a new top player in the network combining the inner workings of both their previous families. Jamo became its don with Kaju his consigliere, they then notably went on to recruit several former dons into their ranks including Mean 2 U Man who would go on to succeed Jamo as don in early 08. They aided in several in major wars in their time before closing down in May.08 with its remnants recruited into Mafia City.


:: RIP RuneScape
December 2007, a hard hit in the Mafia Genre. The wilderness was closed, free trade died, and the genre was paralyzed. New efforts were made to make money, conduct hits, and live the Mafia lifestyle, but none were equal to what was conducted prior to December 10th. RIP Mafia, see you next year.

:: Verona vs JotNR
The beginning on March 08 saw the Verona family go to war against Jedi of the New Republic calling in its allies including Ando, 99th Mafia and other allied clans. The battlefield saw 99 of us vs 97 opponents in what was an even fight until a final charge was called too soon resulting in heavily losses from enemy barrages leading to an eventual defeat,

Reason for the war still unconfirmed, participants mentioned where seen in the war vid but likely more involved


::Mafia City vs Kingdom of Varrock round 2
Tensions where at an all time high in early 2008 in the territories of W83, it was decided that it was time to make a stand and show the world how powerful the network was. Mafia City, Verona and Ando secretly plotted an all out war and then on 12.Apr.08 we met them on the battlefield. It was a landslide victory on our side with 52 men still standing. This led the opposing factions to push for peace talks soon after the battle.


:: Corleone Crisis
Another power change took place in The Corleone Family. Then new don, 13thef13 had been chosen by Tonyhughes to take power. Thef had made some changes to his new empire and removed appointed Con_sigiliere Greenbayp04 from office. As always there were two opinions to the reason of this. Tonyhughes returned to the scene and launched a counter attack on The Corleone Family. There was no actual battle however Tonyhughes was defeated. He simply took a leave and left for new powers outside the mafia.
Tonyhughes became Don on 15.Dec.07 until 08.May.08 where he handed it down to 13thef13 then this took place on 18.May.08 and over by 26.May.08 with Thef as Don

:After the Corleone Crisis
Corleone from this point on had nothing but troubles. Thef handed donship down to Reks, whom passed it down to more and more people. It took 10 different Dons before Corelone finally had a consistent leader.
With this being said, the Corleone Crisis affected the Corleone Family for nearly 2 years until Xboxyoyo took the family by the legs and built it back ground up.
Although Thef is now a retired RuneScape veteran, Tonyhughes may still be found residing in the Kingdom of Varrock.
Looking to find order of succession, Thef was still listed as don 09.Oct.08 on one of my old ally lists. My first ref to Xboxyoyo as don is 12.Oct.09


::Irish Civil War
June 2008 saw Irish Mafia descend into civil war, Tjxx7 led Irish untill the end of May where he stepped down to join Ando which itself closed down several days later. During this small interim Razor7633 jumped in and took over Irish as don to which Tjxx7 returned and also re-created Irish proclaiming he was still don. Several of the network families backed Razor as it was clear that Tj had in fact stepped down forgoing his claim.


:: Gambino Family
First created in 2007, Gambino was not given a name until the Donship of Knight2762. Building a mass army was his goal and he did it well.
Founded after Sept.08, working on when they entered network, likely early 09, confirmed where in the network by May.09

:: Capone Family
Despite the fact the Capones were created in November of 2008, they did not come to light and power until early 2009. Under the leadership of Footballma56, Capones entered a Golden Age in which new faces were entered into the Network. One being Waitinhere, Godfather to Divante and a CEO of Mafia in Focus.

:: Genovese Family
Founded under Luigi2112, Genovese (originally Mafia of Zanaris) was a slow start to a great family. After back and forth quarrels, Luigi retired making Bigm Don. Bigm was able to hold Genovese just long enough to aid Mafia City in the McKnight war. Finally, after seeing that Genovese was going no where, Bigm left the clan to die until Luigi took it back and gave it to iHess36. It was then that Genovese was able to start its legacy.
:Genovese is now a subclan to "The Mafia" and is once again led by Bigm.
Founded on 02.Feb.09, Bigm was Don by 06.Jun.09, Hess was Don by 14.Apr.10


:: McKnight Family
Offspring to the late Frater Family, McKnights were created at the End of March 2009. On its first day, they were met with hostility by Mafia City as it copied material from her thread.
When asked to remove all content, Bowmaster466, known as McKnighter12, refused a fire was lit. War was threatened by Genovese, Divine, Capones, and Mafia City. With this being said, McKnights quickly ran to the aid of allies and unions. A move which proved to be smart.
Not sure on the details about Frater, Bowmaster also briefly joined MC for a day 24.Mar.09, then he registered McKnights on the turf database 03.Apr.09 confirming their creation as end of Mar.09

:: Divine Mafia
Created many years ago, Divine was brought upon the Forum Community in early 2009. A large family with great power, Isildur558 was able to gain power and influence fast all while holding his ground and respect.
They where apparently introduced by Luigi into the network during the McKnight conflicts, so earliest this could be is April 09.


:: Divante Family
Divante quickly grew as a branch of the Capones by Fbm, but it was later brought under WaitinHere's control. During this time tensions between Divante and Genovese grew and a war broke out. Controversies on both sides of the battle made it hard to declare a winner, however tensions did decrease.

:: Ace Mafia Disaster
By the time of late May 09, the McKnights had managed to annoy every family within the Network. A plan was devised to use the Ace Mafia to take them to war in a 1v1 battle but with other families sneaking in to prop up their numbers. Those involved where Ace, Rosato, Divine, Gambino, Vartos and Altruist who held a don meeting to discuss the plan. Ultimately the meeting fell apart with Att Ace being deemed incompetent and some families not wanting to fight un-honourably resulting in Ace Mafia fighting alone and losing.
