Ridley has already reached the city of Varrock and decided to have a drink at the Blue Moon Inn. A Hawk arrived quickly from the Varrock palace to the inside of the Pub.

"Ey you! No animals inside me pub! Get that thing out!" the bartender was not at the slightest amused.

She sighed to herself and ignored the loud request of the bartender. She took the letter from the leg of the hawk, as she did it flew off to the outside world.

"Hm, so she accepted my request..."
She took a feather from her hat and an ink bottle from her bags and wrote back to the queen on the back of the same letter.

Sora Verus

Well then, you have accepted my request. I must say, I am quite glad that you did for this makes things so much easier for me. Though a tad boring for my taste, but I shall take what I can at this point. As for this Sir Casper Silverhill, please ensure he doesn't get on my nerves. I've been told I have a bad temper.

Until then your..."majesty".

Despite the branding of the ground in Canifis by the Morytanian Liberation Front, Rhiannon and Auron were met with very little resistance once they descended the temple tunnels and emerged onto the other side of the bridge connecting Silvarea to the Eastern swampland.
They had, of course, sent a considerable amount of the Royal Army to clear the area beforehand, but the men had been welcomed to the small city with only a single cry of “vive la Morytania!” in the distance. Otherwise, life seemed to go on as normal. Vendors carted their wares back and forth across the city square, men tumbled in and out of the local tavern, and anyone passing by the Varrockian soldiers gave them a smile and a brief nod.

As Rhiannon and Auron were escorted into the city, armed to the teeth with a large cart of flags and banners containing the sigil of Varrock, all seemed quiet and peaceful.

“You know,” Rhiannon spoke through the silence in the group, “for a group of people who burned their initials into the ground, they sure seem to be hesitant.”

Auron nodded his agreement. “Indeed. They seem to be located just outside the city, hidden safely in the confines of the Morytanian swamp. Hell, if Sora and Darius decide this is as far East as we’re going, we might not even hear out of them.”

“We can only hope,” Rhiannon replied as they came upon the city square. “This place will be enough of a shit hole to live in without those vermin running around under our feet.”

Once they reached the square, Auron grabbed a flag from the cart accompanying them and headed to the designated spot right outside the tavern. As he planted it firmly into the ground, a few army men began the task of hanging Varrockian banners from the roof, and Rhiannon cleared her voice.

“Citizen of Canifis, if I may have your attention for just a brief moment!” She called out. The bustle in the city seemed to stop, all eyes turned to her. “Thank you. As I’m sure you are aware, we are here to claim the city of Canifis in the name of the Kingdom of Varrock, under order of King Darius and Queen Sora Verus. If I could, I’d like to speak to whoever has been running the city since the Kingdom’s departure. We will have much to discuss. Lastly, under direct order of the Queen, the Hair of the Dog tavern will now be placed safely back into the hands of the DeWolfe family. The Kingdom thanks you greatly for your cooperation.”

TL;DR: Kingdom of Varrock claims Canifis.

Just Another Day of the Aegis

Few days later, a group of travelers, Saradominist pilgrims from Misthalin, were on the way to one of Ardougne's grand shrines to pay respects to Saradomin. As they walked through the path, a group of brigands leaped out, circling the defenceless travelers. The leader, a man in a black eye patch, threatened them by the scimitar blade if they do not comply to their requests of gold and water. With nothing much in their pockets, save for the food they needed, the pilgrims reluctantly offered them what they needed on a measly scale. Even such a sum is not still enough as one of the brigands held the sole female of the group at bladepoint. She is, indeed, scared for her life, afraid of a gruesome death the brigands would inflict on her and her companions.

It so happened that a group of knights, armed with whitish steel with Saradominist markings and covered with blue and gold armour, were on patrol when the incident took place. Without much hesitation, the party charged right close to where the brigands are. Allowing themselves to be noticed by the brigands, those knights brandished themselves, intimidating the brigands. "Shiny armour... It's Saradomin's defenders! Run for your lives!" The brigand ran away like rats being chased by a few ferocious cats.

With the brigands chased off, the pilgrims were indeed safe once more. The knights introduced themselves as soldiers of the Holy Order of Fellow-Soldiers of the Aegis of Saradomin, a knightly order of warrior-monks dedicated to protecting the defenceless from those who wish harm. Feeling at ease, the pilgrim party proceeded to Ardougne, flanked and guarded by the knights.

Brother Rowan, the new Lord-Seneschal of the Order, welcomed the pilgrims. He went on to assist the parish priest in offering the sacraments to them. The knights, meanwhile, were stationed outside the parish grounds for added protection.

The pilgrims were grateful of the warrior-monks' service.

Who are We?

Brother Rowanius, inked quill on hand, began writing his short treatise about the Aegis of Saradomin. Who are they and what do they do?

He then begins scribbling the letters.

Peace be unto Saradomin, everyone.

I write this one piece here in the hopes that everyone who reads this, most especially the brothers and sisters of the Order know what we are and what we do. I believe that ignorance towards the apple tree in which apples grow bears bad apples; I do hope that no one shares the fate as such, especially a brother or sister who decided to enlist in the Order. We are the Holy Order of Fellow-Soldiers of the Aegis of Saradomin. The common folk would reasonably call us by our shorter name, the Aegis of Saradomin.

Why so if you may ask? With Saradomin's return and victory which I, myself, have witnessed alongside a handful of brothers and sisters back in Lumbridge, many pilgrims found motivation in going to the shrines and holy places dedicated to the God of Order and Wisdom himself, my lord Saradomin. He, who was victorious against the Lord of Chaos and Destruction, is what led a handful of followers, mostly religious warriors, to band as a brotherhood. We kept ourselves faithful to our prime mission, to serve and protect Saradomin's faithful against those who seek harm. Our dedication to our cause actually stemmed from one incident which I learned a few weeks within the Battle wherein a group of monks and nuns were captured by the vile Kinshra and, subsequently, were presumed dead; we swore that something like that would never happen again.

We seek to aid the faithful in travelling to shrines and holy places dedicated to Saradomin himself while taking on external threats such as demons and heretics; that indeed makes us a policing force of the Order, akin to our predecessor in the Third Age, the Knights Aegean. As said by the High Priest when we obtained our honour as a military order....

He ran out of ink.

He managed to obtain another bottle of ink. Then, he continued writing....

... we are to continue what the Knights Aegean had started. Thus, we are the continuation of their Order.

Whenever demons or heretics aim to lay waste upon the faithful, we, the Aegis of Saradomin, commit ourselves to serving Lord Saradomin by being his sword and shield, all for the sake of the defenceless and the innocent who wish to glorify him in their best. We will stand strong, endure the coming storms like the many times we proved unbreakable despite the odds, and be an example to the entire faithful that chivalry in the name of our holy faith is never dead and will never die.

Rise up, brothers and sisters of the Order! Bear the Holy Sword and Shield as we march in the name of Order and Wisdom!

The Aegis Endures!

The text itself took one long parchment, right until somewhere near the very bottom. As he finished, he muttered to himself, "Great... I've finally finished one of my written speeches. I better have this read to all the faithful soldiers here that they may be inspired."

Afterwards, he packed up his things and readied himself for the coming ship from Crandor.

It was a lovely day in Tuai Leit as Professor Wilbis finally emerged from his gnomish home. The breeze provided cool relief, as it brought the gentle sea spray into the air and brought down the humidity.

Not that he cared, of course. There was science to be done! Today was the day where he could come forth and deploy his latest invention - the Oldak Coil, courtesy of the papers written by the brilliant Oldak himself on divine energy theory.

He had placed the last of the "do not enter" signs around the perimeter of the beach.
"You'd have to be a complete and utter moron to miss these," he said to himself as he began to charge up the coil. After a few minutes, it began to spark, and Wilbis squealed with glee. "It works! It works!" He scrambled into his house to get some parchment.

Cain was skipping across the beach, eyes closed, feeling the sea breeze and enjoying everything life had to offer. He heard a crackling buzzing noise, so he opened his eyes and he saw some strange device planted in the middle of the beach. It shot out jolts of light.

Cain slowly approached the strange mechanism. "What the..." he thought to himself, as he reached out to touch it, his eyes filled with curiosity. Naturally, the electricity shot out at Cain, and for a moment of panic, Cain thought it was all over. Then, Cain's hands lit up with a strange light, and the energy was sent up into the sky, harmlessly.

Cain blinked. This had only happened once before, and the energy wasn't harmless...it went straight into the Khagan from the Skull region.

"Oi!" squealed Wilbis, "Didn't you read the signs?! I put them there for a reason! No good stupid good-for-nothing humans..."

"Oh," Cain stuttered. "I'm sorry, I just couldn't -"

"Never mind that," Wilbis said, "How on all of the planes are you still alive?"

Wilbis dragged Cain into his workshop. Cain almost knocked over a few vials, much to the disdain of the Professor. Wilbis pointed to a single chair in the midst of the chaotic workshop, and Cain plopped down there.

"Hmmm...energy....energy....energy...." Wilbis muttered to himself. "Energy...with the hands thing...magic? No...not magic...no runes on hand..."

"Uhh, are you okay? You keep saying - " Cain began.

"ENERGY! THAT'S IT!" Wilbis had a moment of inspiration. "The energy! You moved it! You must be studied!"

Cain's face turned red with insecurity. "Um, look, I'm not sure that's the best idea - "

"Nonsense! I have determined that there is a 98.37% chance that you should have immediately been slain from direct contact with the raw divine energy to which you have encountered. Logically, the primary explanation to your survival is the presence of some form of insulator against the electricity...though from a physical examination, it appears the insulator is not a physical item on you. No, that was too simple, I thought, so then, I realized that the primary explanation did not have sufficient evidence to support it, so I discarded this, and then formed a secondary hypothesis that you possess certain racial properties that have protected you from harm by disrupting the energy itself!"

Cain stared at Wilbis blankly. "Um...what do you mean by 'racial' properties? I'm human?"

"Are you?" Wilbis stared at Cain with a maniacal grin. "I'm not human, and people think I am!"

This just made Cain more confused, as Wilbis was in fact human...

After some argument, Wilbis took a blood sample from Cain, and placed it on to a table. Wilbis shooed Cain away from the hut, making him wait outside, as he performed a variety of tests on the blood sample. Cain wasn't exactly sure what happened, but he saw a lot of glowing lights.

After a few hours, Wilbis emerged from his workshop.

Cain stared at the detailed report in confusion. Most of it was covered from head to toe with numbers and strange mathematical symbols, but there was one part he could understand.

"...and thus, we conclude that the blood is a mixture of Icyene blood and some form of demonic blood (further information is needed to find the exact type...I have not studied this extensively), and the results are significant (probability value < 0.0001).

Ordinarily, such a test is not enough to identify parentage, but given the uniqueness of the scenario, there is a 99.998% likelihood that the parents are the only known couple with matching bloodlines in the whole of the Empire (based on records that I have...procured), which would be Raine and Yami Izrail.

This concludes the report. The fee for the test will be 5000 chimes..."

Cain stopped reading there, and stared at the paper in disbelief. Could it really be true?

Well, one way to find out. He had meant to come here to ask Divinius about helping the Pharoah, but he couldn't find him...

It has to wait a bit longer...I need to know the truth.

Cain ran to the Spirit of Anagami.

"Vizier Cain," one of the crewmates addressed him. "How may we be of assist -"

"Take me to Cyclosis. Now." Cain was out of breath.

"Oh...of course." The crew member ran to alert the captain, and within the hour the ship was moving.
