We are a group of dungeoneerers that kills everything in the dungeon except dead ends. This thread is for our participants to discuss freely our methods to develop best practices.

Floor times and competition are not our primary focus! The primary focus is fun. However, we like to see efficient teamwork resulting in floors times that give us a lot of satisfaction.

Discussion thread rules:
- All discussions will be conducted politely. Rudeness is not allowed. That includes retaliating to nasty comments with nasty ones of your own.
- Problems with specific people are not to be discussed on here. You should bring that up privately with a general.
- If a discussion gets nasty or beaten to the ground a general will make a post calling for a stop to that specific argument. If you continue to post beyond that point you will be given a warning and if it happens again you will be kicked.

Essentially, the problem that most often occurs with hope is that people like to stand in corners. This means that whenever someone is targeted by hope, they have no place to go to be safe - they can run, but they can't run to anyplace that hope can't follow them.
So, the key to fighting hope is to have everyone up close to him. That way, whoever is targeted can quickly duck back behind the line, preventing the boss from reaching him.
Keep in mind that trampling other players(walking through them) will also allow hope to walk through them(or any other monster - worth remembering elsewhere during floors), so walk around them rather then through them.
If you are trampled by another player, simply move to a different floor square, and back if necessary. That resets you to an un-trampled state, meaning bosses and other monsters can no longer walk through you either.
Using magic is acceptable if you have a surgebox, since it's rather effective against him, but don't rely on entangles for defence. If you don't have a surgebox, just melee. Even if you are using magic, do so from melee range, so players who becoem targeted can stand behind you. Never hex hope, because the hexhunter bow does not apply a damage increase against him(or did not the last time I played).
If you are praying melee instead of dodging behind other players, watch him very closely and make sure to turn off deflects and protects when you see his "Grooar" message(similar to Kal'Ger's "Grrrr" - although this one will only hurt you and not your teammates). Soul split is a good alternative for this. If you continue to have prayer up, he will do a large amount of damage and drain your remaining prayer. If you do not have quick reflexes, do not try to pray deflect or protect - use soul split only.

Kalger is one of the easiest bosses...if you know how to do it right.
First, there are a few essential things you should know:
-there should be at least one hex on the team
-do NOT stand under him, use right-click to attack
-the only time you should pray protection prayers is during the mage form
-if he says "GRR!" turn your prayers OFF immediately otherwise someone will die
-full armor is a must, it'll seriously reduce your damage taken
-ragers are useless since the only damage kalger will take is from us, no veng/deflect/familiars etc.
-damage dealt to kalger is capped at 500
-take your blood necks off during range form
Now onto the fun part.
There will be 6 forms of Kalger.
Melee>Melee>Mage>Melee>Range>Melee
Crush ALL melee forms. Slash the range form. Range the mage form. Now for the method on how to do this properly.
The first two melee forms are easiest. Just turn on turmoil and soul split and whack away. It's at this point where one of your teammates should drop a personal gatestone on the melee side.
Once his hp is low enough, he will fly over to the other side of the lava and pick up a staff and start maging you. Now the people with hex should have switched to their desperado ring and attack kalger while someone without a hex should get to the side where kalger is via the orange/golden sphere that comes to the melee side. Just stand under the sphere and it'll teleport you to the other side. Now drop your gate.
After mage form is dead, do the melee form as you have before. Once the melee form is dead, the range form is next. Now whoever gated the range/mage side should move gt there so everyone can tele and attack kalger with slash.
Once this form is dead, it's time for the last form. In this form he pulls out a primal maul and will destroy you if you use turmoil. Do not use turmoil or leech curses. These will only boost his power. ONLY use soulsplit on this last melee form.

** Guide to World Gorger **
There are three eyes on the walls surrounding this boss: a melee eye weak to melee, a mage eye weak to mage, and a range eye weak to range.
Killing an eye increases gorger's defense versus that kind of attack and increases your max hit. For this reason we kill the mage and range eyes and melee the boss.
Meleeing the eyes using crush is also effective.
Tips:
• don't stand under the boss
• use slash on the boss
• pray mage
