You can't use momentum because you can't use freedom (un-bind) without wasting it. You also can't use hurricane without wasting momentum (or any ability, but mainly those matter)
Nice comp hood btw Irish :)

Momentum is a viable ability to use, even more so now that it uses basics from time to time to deal a bit more damage. We aren't going to exclude you from floors because you have trouble with the system nor are we going to say that it is something you mustn't use so by all means use it.
but having said that, all combat content from this point on will either partially or heavily rely on the diversity of abilities so it is something that is worth learning. Dungeoneering is an ample testing ground with it incorporating a bit of everything with no chance of losing bank while you practice so have some fun playing around with it :)

"nor are we going to say that it is something you mustn't use so by all means use it."
Gotta love how accurate Buff's prediction was.
This fc used to pride itself on efficiency and quality floors that were enjoyable because people knew what they were doing. That's long gone. In the last few weeks of the live game, I've seen:
- People running around in full robes without even a melee weapon, maging everything including rangers because they didn't have a different style. As if that wasn't bad enough, some had an arrows bind so the crafted all the runes...
- People running around in ridiculous amounts of armor, including even a kiteshield, while completely neglecting offense.
- People in skiller roles leaving all items, even door pots at base instead of bringing the stuff to gt.
- People looking down on others when they open their gated door, or do their path, or anticipate gt movement, etc.
- People backing out of floors for weird or no reasons.
And what else, I'm probably missing a bunch but didn't keep a list so I may edit them in later on if I feel like doing that.
The point is, I'm getting fed up with the constant trend of this fc dropping in quality. Although more things have contributed, I see one clear point where things started to go wrong. When a precedent was set, which a small group eagerly took advantage off. This mistake is still long overdue on correcting.
I am actually frightened what will happen when EOC hits. I don't mean the initial confusion, but once things are clear. Are the generals finally going to take this update as an opportunity to re-establish the control over the fc they've lost long ago? Are we returning to quality?
Or will we continue on the road of ignoring requirements, guaranteed trial passes, half the fc being ranked keyers, efficiency being looked down upon, advice being ignored or even scoffed at, etc ? I really hope not.
I don't want to leave, but I dg for fun too. And in a lot of floors, I'm not having fun anymore. :(

To clarify, I'm not leaving. I'm trying to improve the situation. Everything I wrote there, I've told the generals before, but they don't seem to even take notice. It feels like coaching a brick wall into moving. I didn't want to post these sentiments publicly, but it's honest and I don't see why others shouldn't know how I feel about the current direction of the fc.
I hope this snaps a certain few people into realising that there are a bunch of things seriously wrong, and that something needs to happen very soon.

I really enjoy dg4fun floors, truly I do, but the wait time in between flooring is probably going to push me back into solo floors now that they have increased the xp. Some days go well but others involve a lot of lobby sitting. A few of us that have recently joined have remarked on the fact that certain people in the clan always DG together in the same group and it feels like High School again trying to break into a clique at a new school. We wait hoping one of them will stop to eat or sleep so we can catch a break and get in on the action. Not sure how to fix this other than recruiting more people so we can get more than 2 floors in at a time.

Whynot, we listen to you when you tell us your feelings. However, you will have to understand that we will not always do what you want us to do nor can we implement changes immediately. We also don't always feel the same way you do. For example, we have been purposefully lax in the past few weeks because we know EOC is coming and we know that means big change. They updated the dungeoneering binds a little early so we let people play around with that. It was the last hurrah for the old style and we felt that it was ok to let people have fun for two weeks. Do people right now have ridiculous binds for the current system? Yep and I'm totally ok with that and I don't really think it matters what we do for these two weeks in the long run.
We are dg4fun, but it's impossible to have a style that is fun for everybody. We try to strike a balance between the more efficient minded people and the more relaxed people. We don't want to slip too far either way, and I think we've been doing a good job. We are consistently getting more efficient as a group. I don't care what you think whynot, I see a definite trend towards efficiency in this group and I'm very proud of it.
Instead of writing up public complaints in an attempt to shame us into changing the fc into a way you want, how about you take a leading role on helping people become more efficient? For example, you see someone leaving all the armor at ht. You could kindly tell them that they should bring it to the gt. You think someone shouldn't be ranked keyer? Offer to give them advice and help them "earn" that rank for real. And yes, I know that not everyone will respond favorably to advice. I also know that you are capable of phrasing it in a nice way that gives them the greatest change to accept it.
I like you whynot, but if you are only going to be negative it's not really helping the fc. Publicly tearing down the generals doesn't help us maintain control.

Liz, we aren't and never will be an instant floor fc. We are more the type of fc where you either get on a team that continues on for several floors or the type where you do something else while waiting for a floor. We know this doesn't meet everyone's wishes but it's just how it is. We aren't going to get any bigger, ever. For people who want constant floors they will have to look somewhere else in between dg4fun floors. And yes, if you sit in the dung lobby you will see many of the current teams continuing on. That's how we do it here. We give priority to the current team. We don't disband and reform after every floor.
Also, if you're talking about my group, usually we aren't doing dg4fun floors. We're just in the dg4fun world. That's why we don't advertise in the fc :) .
People make friends in dg4fun and then they want to floor with those friends. I don't think it's fair to say that they must always form only in the fc. There are easy ways to get around that too. Just tell your friends that you're about to form and then they answer first. If someone makes close friends I think it's ok to let them play together. I know it's much more enjoyable.
