@Finiteness,
I only remember one person in recent memory that did what you said in your post.
"A few weeks ago I've tried to help someone who insisted on fishing/upgrading armour as a fighter and say "Well, people in my team are happy with what I'm doing" and they've been around a while before getting kicked."
That person was kicked for generally being a unpleasant person, not listening in floors, and wasting everyones time based on selfish reasons.
We all try to avoid deaths, but no one here really Survprods it up anymore. Sometimes people are to lazy to save themselves a death though (I chid you lazy people).
And to what KYR said about checking invens on the rings, yes I agree. I was just making a point to say "If you have a cosmetic skin, you should go ahead and tell the miner/skiller at the start of the floor what you need because they have to go out of their way to check it." But if they forget to do that, or get to caught up in the floor, just spy inventories and what people are wearing.

Also what that person said in the floor "Well, people in my team are happy with what I'm doing".
Its things like this that are why you should pm a lazy gen. Or at least tell Pokey or someone who will make sure to add it to a list of things to tell me about.
I find that in situations where someone is doing things like what that person was doing in floors, people often tend to go to the forgiving side of things and think "Hmm, I don't want to cause a problem. If everyone else is ok with it, then I won't make a big deal over it" when in truth everyone is thinking this, and everyone is thinking "Wish this guy wouldn't waste everyones time, but I don't want to cause a problem so..."
Better to speak up, rather than let it go on and force everyone in the chat that floors with this person to just "deal with it" because they now have a preconceived idea that what they are doing is acceptable by most everyone else. Suddenly you become the ******* for pointing out what everyone else was to shy to say, and that person berates you and the group on the forums because of the injustice done to them. When in reality you are saying what others were to shy to say/didn't feel it was their place to say.
The thing that annoys me the absolute most is when people tell me "The new people suck, they can't gate or do anything right!"....but they won't give me names or instances...What do you expect me to do about it if you won't give me names...Ban every new person that joined within the past 2 months? We don't do blanket statements like that. If someone is being a problem, we deal with it and that person directly. How can we do this if people continuously tell us "I'm so mad right now, there is a big problem in the chat. But I have no idea who is causing the problem"
It makes me beat my head on my desk -_-

Whenever I find someone who isn't up to par with my standards (which are quite low for new people) I pm divi or dster about it, they always fix it. You all should do the same.
Also, I'm up to give dg lessons if anyone wants 'em. It'll make people rage at you less. I've already given a few to Mousecatmom and she seemed to have learned a great deal from them.
