Personally I don't see this as a dg4fun discussion thread, moreso a thread where friends can discuss stuff. We've discussed things that had nothing to do with dg4fun before and no one assumed those things were about dg4fun. :L
I also remember posting about the new 6:16 record on this thread but no one raged that omg it wasn't dg4fun lol.
Armor/potions are unnecessary for survival, so we didn't make them.
I've also had floors in here before where people specifically requested they not have armor made because it's a timewaste, and when I pmed you guys about it you said it was fine, but now apparently it's not fine? Or were those floors not dg4fun either?

We aren't raging. We are simply trying to clear up potential confusion. Maybe we're all just stupid, but that needs to be taken into account. Can you be considerate and help us trying help potential new people by differentiating between dg4fun style and not dg4fun style? We aren't mad. We aren't telling you to shut up. No need to start a fight.

Nothing goes on for like 3 flipping days and then suddenly BAM 2 new pages.
Serious question. I ask this only to satisfy my own curiosity. Do you (the faster paced people of the group, 95% of which are efficient and good keyers) feel like the skilling we do is a waste? Do you feel like we are holding you back by taking the time to do the current amount of skilling that is expected in floors?
I understand a desire to aim for some faster floors and try to set some records, but I do want to know if you resent our desire for moderate skilling in floors. We do aim to make it as efficient as possible, but is this enough for you? Or do you secretly think "this is such a waste of time".
Or do you just think "I enjoy rushes sometimes. I enjoy fast kabdes. I enjoy more laid back kabdes. I enjoy a bit of them all." (which is highly possible)
I just want to know if you secretly hate the fact that we skill. You being rather ambiguous.

Doesn't bother me at all really. I will say a few words about it though.
Most people I floor with probably know that I'm notorious for avoiding skilling positions. The way I dungeoneer is to complete the floor as fast as possible, but I'm not going to hold my teammates to that same standard. I will do whatever is in my power to achieve that, which for me means not skilling.
I do not try to push my style of dungeoneering on anyone in the FC, but if the rest of the team feels similarly then I see nothing wrong with ignoring certain aspects of your typical dg4fun floor if it makes the floor more fun for those involved.
The reason it does not bother me is because of my expectations. I do not expect fast floors in the FC, therefore it doesn't bother me when people do things that don't necessarily contribute to completing the floor as fast as possible. I think if you joined this FC expecting fast floors you came to the wrong spot in the first place.

As Tim said, from a personal standpoint, the skilling is a waste of time. It isn't necessary for survival (unless you have no armor binds, including hood, in which case have a plate made or bound) and floor pots/boss pots don't speed the floor up. Floor pots are debatable.
I won't try to force this view on anyone, as I know a lot of the people in fc come here for the "relaxed" pace and not "rushing." You guys can play as you'd like, and we'll play how we like and no hard feelings. :p
I don't *hate* the skilling, I just think it's a waste of time. What bothers me the most though is when the skillers spend half the floor or more skilling. It doesn't take that long, lol. Farming can be easily done within 1/4 of the floor (a normal dg4fun floor) and mining probably around the same if an average amount of ores.

There is a blurry line between all party members saying "Yea its fine by me if we don't skill. I have a plate bound and should be fine" and someone else thinking "I don't want to be the limiting factor for this floor. I like skilling, but non of them do so I'll just shut up so I'm not disliked"
Take care that when you don't skill in floors like in situations that Evertim said
"but if the rest of the team feels similarly then I see nothing wrong with ignoring certain aspects of your typical dg4fun floor if it makes the floor more fun for those involved."
that you don't do this with people you know aren't going to prefer or like the floor with no skilling. Try to ensure that no one is pressured into it because they feel they are holding the team back if they are the only one that wants to floor that way. For that reason it is best to do these sort of floors through pm (which is the case for the most part to my knowledge).
Also I asked so obviously I expected answers much to what you guys have said, but please refrain from saying things like that in floors or the fc. Things along the lines of "I don't *hate* the skilling, I just think it's a waste of time.", etc. It may raise tempers and cause arguments. In the end it is ultimately what Evertim said "I think if you joined this FC expecting fast floors you came to the wrong spot in the first place."
You joined the group with the understanding that skilling in floors is expected and you may even be needed to fill said role. Due to the large number of people capable of skilling because of the requirements; 95% of the time if you really don't like skilling, someone who doesn't mind doing it will volunteer more often than not. But it is nice to always be able to do it yourself.
Thank you for satisfying my curiosity. Buff, even though you say you think skilling is unneeded in floors, to me it means something that you are willing to skill in floors for the party even when you may not think it is necessarily.
