In reality, people really are getting 3 chances because you apply, rejected. Fix your ap, rejected again. Then you get a "who gets the hex question" to actually work out the math.
Some people honestly read what it says on the forums, but they just don't "get it."
Yes, it's being a softy, but the truth is, if you have a friend in this clan, and your ap is rejected, your friend is going to pm you and tell you where you messed up. So your second ap will be perfect. We all know that happens. (a high % of aps are first time rejected.)
So, what about the others, who actually applied not knowing anyone? The opportunity to answer a question to show they understand proves they read it.
I know it's stretching the rules, but I strongly support it.
