All right, take 2 of this.
So this is the second RA i'm writing this week, last one written last night at the time of writing wasn't up to par with what I envisioned for it, so I deleted it and decided to work on a brand new one today just for you.

We have a nice menu of things for you today including promotions and... A story I feel some of you will love.

Let's get right to it.

So for those of you who weren't here during the meeting, we took the hard decision to assign a new Grand Master to the Dragon Knights. This person has been not only an asset to k0v long before he even joined, but he is one helluva bosser who has no issues with allowing those of us on the lower end of the power spectrum to accompany him to help us gain funds.

So without further please ((officially)) congratulate your new GM: Halu!!!

"There were three hundred of us, one of the finest Companies around "The 32nd". We were moving double time to reach our target, Varrock and initiate the siege under the cover of Night before they realized what was going on.
Our Summoners were the finest in Misthalin, having brought forth an army of monstrosities on the opposite front to divert all attention away from us. Magic truly is a scary thing.

As the large brick walls towered above us, we didn't encounter a single guard nor civilian. There was some concern amongst my platoon but we arrived on the conclusion that the citizens were told to hide due to the distraction attack and the guards were told to go defend the other gate.

We told ourselves that, I never truly believed it... I think none of them truly did either.

As we approached the gates, those around me shared nervous smiles and half-assed reassuring comments with each other. How they would be done in time for breakfast home. Fantasizing what they would do to the King and Prince's heads but mostly they were exchanging ideas on what they would do to the Princess and the Queen once they captured them, disgusting as these things might be they seemed to boost their morale. That's fine. Anything that helps us make it through this alive.

Sadly these sick, reassuring fantasies were shattered by Major Kedram Shouting "Ambush!" before getting swallowed in a series of explosions along with the frontlines.
We reacted quickly, we brought our shields up to protect the archers and mages towards the center of the formation, however when we peered we saw nothing. For a few moments we stood there, people shouting orders no one could really hear over our ringing ears. I sucked in as much air as I could, felt something ashy enter my mouth and tried to not think of the fact that might had been a bit of the Major. We kept that formation until we looked behind us.

The second I peered I heard multiple "Fwips" go by me on both sides, followed by screams and gurgles across the center. We fired back at where we thought the attackers were but I don't think we hit anything. The ambushing party's response to our counter attack was a volley from a completely different side, not a single projectile missed it's mark. For every arrow fired one of us fell, as if death itself was guiding them.

It didn't take long for our formation to scatter. Spells, bolts, and javelins flew at the shadows to hit nothing but greenery, it was as if we were fighting just literal shadows.

Ten Minutes ago the 32nd Company was the Gods-given spearhead with which we would pierce the heart of the Varrockians.

Now, only five of us remained, five nobodies with standard issue Sword and Shield back to back amidst an ocean of corpses.

"We have to get the #%^& out of here!" Said one of the guys who earlier was fantasizing about the Queen. As the others voiced their approval, I heard the dreaded sound of arrows being fired. They all flew past me, heard groans and then thuds. I didn't need to turn around as I was well aware what just happened.

And I was next.

I closed my eyes, thinking back on my wife and my baby boy. They might take my life but they will not take this from me, I stood there and awaited my final judgement... but it never came.
I stood there for what felt like an eternity, feeling like the most hopeless creature in the planet, lower than an ant to be crushed by Vengeful Gods.

The arrow never came, after a few moments of regaining my senses I forced myself to move, I could feel my tears flowing as I scrambled through the bodies... tossing my shield, sword, and pride as I ran.

The following days were a haze of reports, accusations of desertion amongst some other things. They mesh together up until the point where I was let go, it's a mystery as to why. However when I went home I was greeted with that dream of mine, my wife standing by the door as my child ran towards me screaming "Daddy!" with a smile.

A week has passed since then, I haven't slept since. Every time I close my eyes I find myself back there, everyone dead and I am surrounded by the Killer Void letting me stand there, judging me.
Since then I was visited by a Lieutenant who came asking me to recall now that I was more relaxed what had happened, the story sounded more coherent even to myself now that I had time to piece together what had happened.

I have heard rumours of what happened since then, the most prominent one is of what seems to be an elite division in their Military, the one they call in when the odds are three hundred to one, long thought to have been dissolved.
