You can't use browsers as of today, it redirects you to the nxt client.
Work around for this is bypassing the play now completely, I used world23.runescape.com and it loaded up the login page in waterfox for me.
You can - if you go to the page I just linked you can access the browser and java clients form that page.
I am not talking about the downloadable Java client, I am talking about using a browser to play. I use a 64bit browser with 64bit Java and it runs RS much better than the Java client does but when you click the Play Now button on the mainpage of the RS website it prompts you to open the NXT Client and won't let you continue to the login screen unless you use the workaround I posted above.
Thanks
Played NXT in both of the BETAs and thoroughly missed them on it's downtime. So glad it's finally out - though still some common bugs that weren't patched. I presume they'll be patched eventually.
One such bug is seeing the aquarium above ground due to the increase in draw distance.

Yes - on that page I linked is the browser based version at the bottom of the page. Sadly though Java support is being removed from all clients one by one and so is unsustainable long term.

ty matthe, i'll try it out. Exploring the world a bit now to see how nxt looks after beta.
Max guild looks very dark while particles are very light. Using fast lodestone network takes a while to load map.
Maps will take a while to load until the full cache has downloaded. Once that has done it should be spot on.

There are some unusual bugs created by the map tricks we did use and the changes the NXT client makes because of how much better it is. We'll keep working on them.

is there any way to check that progress? I waited till the nxt client right down corner told me 100% before logging in. Cb in gwd2 felt strange but that may just be me
