Where are the warring-based clans

We opened on OSRS and are doing far better there than on RS3 :P The large majority of people I know from pre-EoC F2P warring clans strongly dislike EoC and EoC warring. Legacy combat is just so unbalanced for multi-PvP, you call a pile and they die before half of your members get a click because some people already hit a 300 or 400. And since you only have 990 hitpoints, people die very fast no matter what their defence is. Calling became more of a rap-contest and I remember a 30v30 30 mins killcount war, in which the average kill took about 5 seconds. If you think about the actions a pile takes (finding it, speaking out the name, people getting a click), than 5 seconds is very short. But it's logical, as there's a 99% chance of dying in a second when under attack by 25+ players. It just doesn't work for most warring clans, especially for the ones that used to pull 60+ players.

This nails it :D

It might also be worth suggesting that the entire clan wars system be reworked. I'd argue that it is a tad bit out-of-date, especially since the introduction of the "new" combat system.

What do you mean?

Clan wars has existed for several years, but has since seen some inactivity due to the introduction of the evolution of combat. With that introduction, Runescape had also experienced a decline in it's overall population and activity, with players preferring the old combat system deciding to leave. Legacy was introduced, some players returned, but still Clan wars remains unchanged in the main Runescape game. I think that the whole clan warring system ought to also be reworked and revised in order to make it compatible with both EoC and Legacy players. Of course, how they would do this is beyond my limited understanding of game mechanics.

So we can war in Clan Wars while the Wilderness, which most warring clans preferred to war in as it requires more skill, will remain dead? The solution isn't changing Clan Wars mechanics to make warring possible in the new combat system, but to finally take a good critical look at RS3's combat systems and improve it so we can war anywhere we want to. I just don't feel like Jagex has any idea what they're doing when it comes to PvP though, they just keep making DPS higher thinking more damage equals more fun, while the opposite is true. The only actual good improvement they could add to Clan Wars is to restore potions/food/armour charges so it doesn't cost a lot of money to war.

A very simple thing JMods could develop that would help tremendously helpful would be a simple filtering category to the clans page that said something like War Alert: On/Off and this option could automatically turn off if say the clan didn't have any events added to their calendar within the last 3 months. Easy to upkeep, all a clan leader would need to do would be to add any events to their calendar if their clan was still active. And this would allow any clans who wanted to participate in PvP to be able to find one another easier.

That being said, I think the main reason most people don't PvP on RS3 is because most players either don't understand the combat system or don't know what items to wear. We've seen some progress towards making this information more available like the Potions article now includes if a potion is F2P or P2P which was a major change since the EOC and the best equipment category is somewhat okay, but it'd be nice to have something like strategy guides for PvP minigames which included what gear to wear.
