We're a tier 7 clan now. Since achieving tier 7 we hardly ever ask clan members to cap. Each week we have enough members cap to achieve upkeep.

It would be nice knowing that once you achieve tier 7 that you could upgrade to prevent anything from downgrading. I think this feature would be so useful to smaller clans.

Our clan had the same ideal, however the bystander mentality took effect over time. As we continued to grow and cycle members being active and inactive the mentality soon became "someone else will do it". We dilapidated for one week and lost our avatars during that time. We didn't downgrade though.

I still think if your clan has a citadel EVERY SINGLE clan member should contribute to the clan citadel unless they contribute to the clan in some other way IFF they are noticeably online throughout the week (meaning if they have enough time to be on, they have enough time to help out). My clan does the following:

A member must give contribution to the clan in one of the following ways every week:
-Cap at the citadel
-Gain 10 mil xp in the week's time (tracked via runeclan)
-Recruit 1 member within our clan requirements (2000+ total or 130+ combat)
-Donate 2m to our clan bank (separate thing takes a lot of time to explain)

If a clan has a citadel, and a player is in that clan. They should contribute. If someone believes that you shouldn't have to contribute to the clan, they shouldn't be in a clan to begin with. The idea of entitlement is not right in my mind. To get something, you have to give something. This exchange helps both the player and the clan. I always say "quality over quantity".

So basically you force your members to either cap or pay a fee? Also many clans do not care about the citadel as that is not what the clan was built around. Why should a member of a PK clan, PvM clan, or even a Skilling clan be forced to do something they don't want to do? The citadel is most likely not why they joined the clan. This is not an "idea of entitlement" this is you having a power trip.

Edit - fixed failed quote lol

Or gain 10 mil xp in the weeks time, or recruit someone new into the clan. The focus isn't the citadel, its the contribution that the members can give.

A player could take a week off for exams, or just choose to simply not play. Your point is irrelevant.

As usual someone didn't read the entire post :P

I said if someone has the time to put multiple hours into a game, they have time at some point to contribute in some way to the clan. You think I am completely ignorant as a leader? I know that we all have real life things, I know that people can't always do stuff. There are other exclusions, but I just don't have the time to explain my entire clan policies to you. So please, for future reference, don't post unless you read and understand the terms and conditions.

Like I said before, you are on a power trip about forcing clan members to do stuff they might not want to do. So maybe they are on a lot during the week but decide to just bankstand and gain no xp while talking to friends. lolpowertrip cba anymore

You can talk to friends and AFK at the citadel at the same time. Its not a power trip, I cannot force anyone to do anything in this game. If I kick any lazy members or members of a bad quality. Ill be sure to send them your way, it seems like you would be happy to have them.
