Is it perhaps possible to have coloured dots for allied / neutral / enemy clans.
Would be a nice feature and actually make diplomacy more important in the game.

Don't really see how coloured dots would improve diplomacy in the game tbh.

Be the first to protect the interests of the clan! This could mean taking up war against other clans but never let people walk over you.
I do see numerous disadvantages in which they can be abused.
I think the hardest thing you're going to find about implementing this idea is getting colours that work. It was hard enough finding one more colour for clan mates that stood out enough in as many colour blind states as possible... let alone finding more! Nice idea tho.

To be honest I'm not really a fan of the orange dot colouring for clanmates, but it's not much of an issue for me.
It's sort of a pale-ish/dim orange which is quite hard to see and can get mixed up with the red, yellow and white at times, as it easily blends into the surroundings. Also, with the level of depth and detail that's coming in the new NXT client minimap, it could be even more difficult.
I love how the bright green dot for friends just strikes out, since it's very rich in colour. Something more bright (cyan maybe, or perhaps a much brighter orange) would be really nice in my opinion.
I like this idea, but as Maz said it might be hard to choose a colour that works. However, if there was a way that we could customise our map settings (and the dot colours) then that could work. So the default could be off for ally dots, but if people wanted it they could turn it on and select a colour that works for them.
I wouldn't mind a grayscale version of the map with different player dot colours, perhaps even removing npc dots. So yeah, I think it could work well if they ever add customisation options to the minimap.
Well you see since it's not so important the colour has some blind spots. Although it would put more interaction between clans. Otherwise the flag in the citadel with clan relationships is kinda pointless.

Please say how this can be abused? I'm open to debate on this matter. It is very natural for clans to dislike each other but even within that hate you can find a Romeo and Juliet scenario. Therefore it can not be abused.
Bossing :
Most bosses have bossing instances now. Reducing the chance of being crashed by a group/ clan
