Can you poll Citadel updates?

Not via twitch, or straw poll. If they poll it, I believe it would be best to be done in-game. Twitch, and also straw poll, are too easily influenced and dependent on who's watching at the time, and also who's willing to actually take time to vote.
If Jagex clearly stated doing this would take work away from other potential large projects, such as quests, area reworks etc. (which it would) then I feel that it wouldn't have a large majority, to be honest. Most people don't realise how much it's actually needed.

Also, I'd prefer them to work on general clan updates to begin with (permission rework, muting etc.) before any large citadel updates are done.

The most obvious place for polling of Clan updates recently has been through Runelabs. Sadly though the Clan based suggestions failed to gain traction and there was not strong support for them.

It is unlikely we would poll citadel changes through twitch or similar without resource being available to make those changes and currently there are too many competing projects to make that likely.

, the champion of the clan forums :P I'd link to your thread but am too lazy, you can do that yourself to promote improving the clan forums

I think that polling citadel updates is pretty important, and that polling is important for any business--in fact, it's normally a part of preliminary research in regards to figuring out what there's a market for.

So it's just a matter of how you'd get meaningful results for clans specifically, and with Jagex's current methods such as RuneLabs, would you ever get meaningful results?

Since
MattHe
says that Runelabs didn't get much traction (does it ever? Genuine question, I have a feeling more people interact with RuneLabs in-game than in the preliminary process), what needs to change, to attract what you need for a useful poll?

I don't know the answer to that, but the psychology/business folk at Jagex should do a project on that.

the easiest spot to add polls is clan forums.

Not really - that would not be a useful poll and would not give any guidance as to wider player opinion. Polling within the Clan Forums could be used to show what those Clan members who use forums want, but would not give any impression as to where that falls in the priorities for the whole game.

The problem the way I see it Matthe - players will always vote for new content as opposed to any clan updates regardless of what they were.

In fact if it came down to a suggestion of having 1 new plot being added to the citadel vs a new boss/item/quest the latter would always win.

If i'm honest we leaders can only roll on so much so support - we need a stronger voice perhaps a few jmod endorsements and jmod retweets and possibly the benefits of supporting a clan based update.

has a good point. But yes, more jmod affiliation would clans would do a lot to help the appeal of clans in Runesape :)

I just want more updates for clans. Once a year or two for a massive clan addition would be awesome.

I think there is quite a lot of support for clan updates, but generally clan updates aren't seen as very exciting by all members.

I wouldn't mind seeing a poll on what people think the next runelabs category should be, for example a poll saying something similar to:

What should be the next Runelabs criteria?
1) New quest
2) New mini-game
3) New boss
4) Clan or chat improvement
5) New skilling area

I don't think the clan/ chat improvement would come very high in the vote, but I think it would show some support, especially if you could vote for multiple.

I think the above suggestion could also show how future content could be split up, for example if clan updates gain 10% of the vote, then perhaps they should get 10% of the years worth of runelabs criteria. As there would, theoretically, be a part of the community that wants this but keeps getting overruled. Naturally, if the percentage was very low, then this is a moot point.
