, the champion of the clan forums :P I'd link to your thread but am too lazy, you can do that yourself to promote improving the clan forums

I think that polling citadel updates is pretty important, and that polling is important for any business--in fact, it's normally a part of preliminary research in regards to figuring out what there's a market for.

So it's just a matter of how you'd get meaningful results for clans specifically, and with Jagex's current methods such as RuneLabs, would you ever get meaningful results?

Since
MattHe
says that Runelabs didn't get much traction (does it ever? Genuine question, I have a feeling more people interact with RuneLabs in-game than in the preliminary process), what needs to change, to attract what you need for a useful poll?

I don't know the answer to that, but the psychology/business folk at Jagex should do a project on that.

Why you think runelabs (and (clan) forums arent popular)? It has all to do with the same thing, the lack of improvements.
to give a few for runelabs:
*the lack of text modifications in runelabs.
*No option to advertise the runelabs (linking) in-game
*no junk/"spam" filter, go to runelabs and I'd ask you to count all the useless ideas
*no rewards?
...
Mini-games, minigames. I love you click HERE!!! if you do too!

I think there is quite a lot of support for clan updates, but generally clan updates aren't seen as very exciting by all members.

I wouldn't mind seeing a poll on what people think the next runelabs category should be, for example a poll saying something similar to:

What should be the next Runelabs criteria?
1) New quest
2) New mini-game
3) New boss
4) Clan or chat improvement
5) New skilling area

I don't think the clan/ chat improvement would come very high in the vote, but I think it would show some support, especially if you could vote for multiple.

I think the above suggestion could also show how future content could be split up, for example if clan updates gain 10% of the vote, then perhaps they should get 10% of the years worth of runelabs criteria. As there would, theoretically, be a part of the community that wants this but keeps getting overruled. Naturally, if the percentage was very low, then this is a moot point.

New boss would probably win that every time then we would have millions of dead content bosses. i mean we already have waaaay too many bosses in accordance to the actual size of gielinor, they may as well start taking up residency in a falador hotel soon.

See the problem with runelabs in general is that majority of people are not able to think long term or for the game as a whole, they will only vote what will benefit them personally short term add to that its numerous flaws of how ideas can be easily influenced to gain more attention.

Personally I think what would be amazing would be at least 1 RuneLabs a year is soley dedicated to clan updates - that way clans do get a little bit of TLC and the rest of the year can be stuff like bosses/citys and so on and so forth.

That way both clans and other players are happy. - I'm going to speak to Mod Kelpie and Mod Osborne and see what they say and ill report back.

Think Osborne will just continuously smile and talk about how excited he is about a new update and the future of the game, ya know generic public figure head stuff like that.

It would really be appreciated by all clans without a doubt if we had more clan updates, even if it's small Ninja-fix like updates. As for big updates I feel as if us clans are always shouting out we want big clan updates but aren't really specific on what we want. The only obvious big clan update we would all appreciate is a permission rework, which was previously being worked on/investigated.

Rather than polling clan updates (obviously people are going to vote for additional content - i.e. bossing, skilling), y'all should have a long-term side project to work on introducing more content to clans. Majority of RuneScape players are in clans (I think) and many of these players who are currently in active clans would benefit from this opportunity.

I'm sure Clan Citadels was not concepted over a span of a day. I believe that rejecting and putting clans off to the side completely isn't the way to go.
