So this is a long shot but I think it would be a really cool and interesting aspect to add to clans.

My suggestion is clan uniforms, which are fully customizable cosmetic by the execs of a clan.

(This idea was inspired by SAO)

*based off of suggestions by other CLF members I changed my suggestion to only one uniform*

The uniform would be able to be different styles based off of the clan's choosing, and show the colors like the vex and cloak do.

Opposition:

"Clan members dont wear their cloaks"

-Although true, this would be a cosmetic override and the uniform would be used in clan official events, not just day to day things such as wars, mini games, recruiting, meetings, and other clan affiliated events.

Interesting idea. Personally I would like just 1 uniform not 4, I don't think the whole of Runescape needs to see Owners, Admn+ or Elites of a clan that is not their own. Those in the Clan can get the information from the Clan Chat if it is not automatically known. Or maybe the clever technical wizards at Jagex could have it seen by your own Clan members only?

However before asking for development time - how many in your clan wear their clan Capes on a regular basis these days? Is your Clan cape keepsaked by most of your members so that it is seen most of the time? I am asking these questions not to be negative but to be realistic. When Clans (& our Clan) were new most of our members wore the Clan Cape . These days they are not any less proud of the Clan, but wear what suits them as individuals not a collective. I actually mentally register when one of my own wears a Clan cape now, it is that rare. Myself I dust of the Cape once a week to claim Citadel xp, and that is all. Soooo if a cape is so little worn then surely a uniform would be even less so?

I've always loved the idea of a clan uniform ( personally wish they would let us wear the citadel guard armour, like we can do in heist ). If it would be a simple job for a small team in-between updates it would be a nice addition; perhaps as an override.

I'm not sure If I support a clan owner/ rank specific only versions; but I wouldn't campaign to stop it :P . I'd just be happy with a simple clan uniform. Perhaps two additions such as a ceremonial /armour style and a casual addition/ token ( perhaps a scarf in the clan colours ).

Ideally I would love it to be an override ( as I would also love the clan cloak to be an override ). But any additional small clan additions in a similar vein as this would be nice.

The clan cloak can't be keepsaked. -_-

I'd think 1 or two (Admin\Not) would be more practical and convey the message especially since you'd be competing with other cosmetics (I wouldn't wear my clans most likely, for example) - One or two would be appropriate use of time I feel. I strongly suggest the MTX team handle this since Cosmetic overrides are definitely something they are good at. "When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero"

I would stick to one uniform and have it as an overide.

Otherwise i dont think its an update that would be widely recieved

It's a really nice idea, but I agree with Scret.

Outfits would be extremely useful for events, particularly skilling / recruitment events, but I feel that varying outfits for ranks would drive a wedge into clans. Some members may even create their own clans to receive the 'best' outfit, and trust me, I know people who'd do that. Perhaps the basic uniform could be upgraded through Citadel activity, or time spent with the clan, displaying your loyalty.

That said, I'd prefer practical updates first, namely the much discussed permissions.

This would largely be a graphical requirement development wise and should not be technically difficult until you got to the "distribution" method, but I would imagine it is managable.

The issue here would be prioritisation - at the point we get one of the development teams to work on a Clan update I would worry that Clan Uniforms would not be the best use of that development time for clans. I would find it difficult to justify Clan Uniforms compared to some of the other updates the CLF has said it wants.
