i'm not a fan of using the avatar, i always forget to dismiss our skiller one. so i only use it when skilling at the citadel and use their caps wisely =^)

however, people dont listen when we say:
"Kappy's out on world 92 at [location]!@$#@!#!%#%@#^@#^@#^"

so i'll support so people can look in the chat and see that warden x has the ava out. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

i agree, numerous times clan members ask in the cc who has the avatar and what world.

We didnt name our avatar only for the fact that new clan members would not know who we were talking about in the cc and didnt want to make it confussing.

This is a great idea! My clan has had this happen several times aswell, people randomly shouting out who has the avatar etc.

Alternatively though, special "avatar warden" ranks could be created, and/or the person's current rank could have a mark identifiying them as a warden. Because i know many clans have problems with rushing admin ranks solely for the purpose of avatar wardens. I feel that if there was a way to maintain certain players ranks while giving them the ability to summon avatars the clan structure would be much better maintained.
