Initially we had a lot of problems with members logging with the avatar. We did not know who the culprits were as every full member could summon an avatar. Since implementing these rules we have not had any problems (touch wood).

Clan Avatar Rules

Members must post that they have read Clan Avatar Rules and agree to abide by these rules. Upon posting that agreement, members will be ranked as an Avatar Warden and have the ability to summon and customize an avatar. Please advise a council member once you have done so. These rules are in place so every clan member may use an avatar in a responsible and fair manner. Avatar Rules apply to every member of the clan with no exceptions.

1. Official clan events have priority over individual members.

2. Skilling with citadel buff has priority over non citadel skilling.

3. Skilling avatar is to be used on clan home world, the second avatar is allowed off home world as a rover.

4. Whomever summons avatar must state this in clan chat with world, location and buff.

5. Repeated failure to advise members in clan chat that avatar is summoned will lead to a summoning ban for a week.

6. Usage is maxed at two hours straight per member unless no one else requests the avatar after that time.

7. Participation in building citadel is not mandatory, but members with a three star fealty will have priority over non contributing members.

8. Do not lobby or log out with avatar! Doing so will result in the avatars being lost. Always dismiss the avatar before lobbying or logging, even if it is for a brief period of time.

9. Members who log-out with avatar, which will result in it being lost, will lose summoning privileges for a week.

10. Repeated failure to adhere to rule #8 will result in losing avatar summoning privileges altogether.

Having Avatar Warden as a permission really wouldn't work for us with the Avatar Rules in place. However a separate rank for Avatar Warden would be great without the kick ability (or toggled). I love the idea of having a symbol next the member who has an avatar summoned, this would save a lot of "who has Buffy or Rover", and lately some members have started calling one of them Kate Moss.

Of course, once we build our new habitat and have three avatars, rule #3 will be need to be re-assessed and expanded on.

And I smell a competition and/or poll coming up for "Name that Avatar"! :P

Agree. I'd much rather have a designated Avatar Warden rank then a permission. An actual Avatar Warden rank would work better with our clan as well.

Clans are already doing this by making everyone Admin rank. I don't see how it would be over the top at all. A designated rank would allow for clans who want to give clan avatar access to clan members the ability to do so without having to sacrifice a specific rank to grant player's access to the clan avatar.

Giving a different rank to summon an avatar would remove peoples previous ranks, and what if the clan leader wants to summon the avatar?
If you have to have the rank to use the avatar, that pretty much gets rid of half our higher ranks..
This would only work if you have set people who -only- wish to summon the avatar and not have other permissions etc, and that the people in charge of other clan running things don't wish to summon the avatar.
I agree having it as a 'job' is annoying but it makes more sense to give it to individual people across ranks rather than have a specific rank for it and denying it to other ranks.

No one has suggested to remove the higher rank's access to the Avatar Warden even if a designated rank were to be created. A designated rank and a permission that can be given to any rank has both been suggested. They are separate.

I'd also like to give the Avatar Warden job title to ranks lower then Admin which is why a permission would be better suited then a designated rank. Mutinous Rcers |
