Support our brethren posting on the Inactive Clan Leaders thread by raising awareness. My thoughts on what I think MattHe's next plan of action should be, based on my limited knowledge on what's going on:

1. Update OP to require that requests follow the below template:
Clan:
Owner:
Deputy:

2. Post on the thread to acknowledge that it's still alive, and to request that those who have already posted edit their posts to include the above formatting.

Thank people for their patience, mention how NXT has had everyone busy/whatever else, give people at least some sort of expectation, for example "I'll respond to 10 requests within the next hour, and eventually update the system by the end of the month."

We have a voice where other clan leaders do not :( And clan culture is something I'd like to advocate, even for others, since it's such a valuable part of Runescape.

How about we instead advocate for clan leaders to be mature enough to hand over the reins when they realise they're hardly in game any more?

You know, like grown ups, instead of wailing and expecting Jagex to fix everything for us.

This would be great if all clan leaders took this stance before going inactive for long periods of time, but unfortunately, there are a lot of clans where their leader just disappears.

Jagex is more than fair setting a "1 year since last log in" requirement for them to be able to step in and make the switch on request from a Deputy, just because that is a rather significant time period to not log in at all. However, someone who is able to leave their clan behind for an entire year with no prior notification probably shouldn't have been a Clan Owner in the first place in my opinion.

Regardless though, it is an unfortunate circumstance that clans can face. Those who currently do are unable to allocate the very useful Avatar Recall feature to members who would actually be able to use it to benefit their clan when someone logs out with one, especially now that the Avatar can be summoned for up to 23 hours.

And it seems Mod Matthe hasn't checked the thread for this in Clan Central in quite some time now.

Well for a start, post to encourage people to think, rather than posting to encourage people to pressure Jagex staff to clear up everyone's mess?

Or remind people that running a clan is intensive and requires dedication and actual effort?

the scientific name for a domestic cat is apparently "Felis catus"??

It is. But unless the person who gave it that name couldn't spell in Latin, it's not because 'catus' means 'cat'. It means 'clever, perceptive'. The classical Latin word for a cat is 'felis'.

There is a post-classical Latin word 'cattus' that does mean 'cat'. That one is either the ancestor of or a cognate of a fair few words for 'cat' in modern languages.

I suppose it's possible that the person who gave the domestic cat its scientific name meant 'cattus' and wrote 'catus'.

But 'perceptive cat' makes sense to me. Whereas calling something 'Felis cattus' is like naming it 'Cat kitty'.
