I can't imagine it will carry on much longer. I say after another week or so it should die down, if not before then. We should be safe here in the lounge though
On a somewhat related note, has anyone else noticed that Future of Probation thread has gone through more pages this week than Mod Maz's Upcoming Clan Improvement thread since this was originally announced?

I'm totally avoiding the probation discussion thread. That thing has gone crazy as I expected lol. I'll try to read through it later today and leave some comments. For now, it's sad to see how I have more Guests than Ranked Members on my Clan Chat.
Luckily, the madness on the Tech Forums has subsided as most people have managed to regain access to the game using VPN software. Still no idea of why several satellite internet service providers are causing issues connecting to one or more RuneScape worlds, but several people said their ISPs were investigating the issue.
I agree, Pescao. I've already said what I wanted to, so will leave it up to the J Mods to take what they can from it. The Probation discussion thread did kind of blow up. haha
As for the log-in issues, if you hear anything, could you let us know?
I really don't want to keep using VPN software unless I have to. It has really slowed down my communications to where bossing is out. Also, I would rather do it the way it was before so Jagex can see what I am doing and could help with account recovery.
I take it from your statement is was satellite providers in general and not just the one I am using. It seemed to happen Tuesday night, January 6th sometime. I could get to the citadel that night and not the next morning. Maybe the time will help find out what was changed to make this happen.
I know my provider sent me an updated modem and did a few other things that had no effect what ever.

We really don't know because people are getting different errors:
- Some say there is a firewall blocking the connection
- Some say there is something blocking Java
- Some say there is an error connecting to server
- Some people can play RS3, but can't play OSRS
- Some people can play everything except UK worlds like Citadel
- Some people are just experiencing really bad latency, lag or frequent disconnects
It's hard to say whether or not there is a general problem with satellite internet service providers like HughesNet, Dish, etc. as those seem to be the worse affected. We have no news from the Jagex Support team, so it is still a possibility that these issues could be coming from Jagex's end. From a technical perspective, all I really know is that RuneScape is not designed to work with slow internet connections and for some reason the use of proxies and vpn seem to be the only temporary work-around for the on-going connection issues.
