*thumbs up* to Calm.

Question time for you guys! (It's clan related, but funny...)

According to Newton's Theory of Gravity:

F = G x [(m1 x m2)/r^2]

where:
F is the force between the masses,
G is the gravitational constant,
m1 is the first mass (kg),
m2 is the second mass (kg), and
r is the distance between the centers of the masses.

Given this equation up the top now..

G = 9.8m per second squared
m1 is the mass of myself
m2 is Gielnor (approximate mass of Earth)
r is the distance is between the ground and the Citadels (approximate height of 6000-12,000m as there are clouds hanging about we assume the Citadels are at the Troposphere)

What would happen if I was wearing my Full Set of Wicked Robes and nothing else (Mass = -24Kg) and stepped off the edge? Would I plummet off the edge, stay floating or fly upwards? =P
This character has been poor since his creation in June 2005.

Thanks :)
Well when you wear wicked robes on the runescape surface, you stay on the ground, suggesting the character has mass anyway. Therefore, it is fair to assume you have a positive mass on the citadel as well, meaning that the downward force of weight would become the resultant one if the character were to step off the edge = plummet downwards

The way to explain the spurious numbers in the equipment details is to notice that the player's mass is not taken into account. I.e. when a player is weighing nothing, his/her mass appears to be 0, therefore the mass shown is that of the equipment, not that if both the equipment and the player.

Hence, the -24kg of the robes is the combined mass of just the robes. It is probable the mass of the character is greater than 24kg, so overall, the character will have weight even with weight-reducing clothing.

However, this means wicked robes can't be dropped ;) Their negative mass would make them fly upwards and away since the action of gravity on them would be acting in the same direction as the buoyancy of the air... ;)

I think...
