Apparently one reason they use social media is because mods have access anytime they want, not just when they're at the studio.

But I agree with MrBrokenBow and wish important information was here as well. I only check Reddit occasionally since it's harder to follow.

They did, or at least tried to.

I believe there was a rumor circling around that just before the probation system changes, Mod Balance's clan, Libra, had a major rebellion where it lost a significant number of its clan members. Then all of a sudden with no prior warning, they changed it so it takes a week to join or create new clans after leaving your old one. The whole thing was suspicious at best.

Why must they poll Reddit, a site not every player uses?

Jagex isn't polling it, its a player. Players don't have a universal option - especially since the forums outside CLF\HLF don't permit polls.

I meant the in-game polls that they used for "Power to the Player", not in-forums.

Yup, I heard about the Mod Balance rebellion rumors too. Did seem a bit... odd. Especially since all of a sudden we had 0 input on it and anything we said got shut down as flaming, toxic, an idea that's not possible or "we'll think about it"... to then promptly be forgotten about.

Why not instead use the in-game polling area they already have set up? Wouldn't that make for a fairer audience?
I mean, I once said the only way to contact Jagex for anything is via social media of some kind and not through their own systems, and it seems it's going that way more and more if it's isn't already completely true.

This is not a poll created by Jagex - where we survey these kinds of things we generally do it either through the website, in game or for more detailed/analytical data through independent 3rd party research companies.

A real conspiracy theory that one - Mod Balance established the clan to help a bunch of players who were struggling but has no involvement in running it. While I understand there were some issues in that clan, as mentioned, that had no effect on development which was already being undertaken when that happened.
