Since we're starting to run out of time now, I figured it was worth making an actual thread for this, rather than hope you read the planning thread, see my Twitter dms or my messages in the count thread :P

Could you have a look through the clan cup planning thread as soon as you have some time please? We have a pretty solid idea of how we could approach the competition, but everything is stalled atm because we haven't heard anything from Jagex at all so we don't know whether it's worth continuing with all the work organising a Cup entails. The main things we'd really like to know concretely atm are:

1 - whether you approve of what we have in mind for the various competitions/any suggestions. Also whether you approve of players hosting the cup at all tbh

2 - a jagex selection of main organisers whom they endorse (perhaps an application thread for jcup organiser roles in the clf)

3 - a concrete statement that jagex will/will not help with prizes and advertisement

4 - if possible, a statement about whether the use of planted feet is considered bug abuse and whether it should or should not be allowed in the pvm cup

We're almost in August already, time is ticking away and we still have a lot to organise if we go ahead with the cup. So if we could get some answers to these issues as soon as possible that would be amazing :)

I am flat out with work atm and go on holiday tonight - I will probably ask Mod Shauny to have a look at it in my absence as it is likely he will be the Community Manager we will ask to look after the competition alongside me. Hey!

Alrighty let's see here.

1. I'm all for player hosted cups, it has it's own personal feel to it and I have no doubt you guys would do an amazing job with it.

2. A selection of organisers sounds good, but one I'd definitely had to query Matthe about.

3. If you take your own time to help host this I don't see a problem in helping you out with prizes. :)

4. It's fine unless stated otherwise.

Thanks so much for the swift answers Shauny! :D

Regarding organisers, they're probably what we need resolved most atm so the team can start piecing together the various components of the Cup. A Jagex-approved list was my ideal scenario since the clan cup is generally regarded as a jagex cup so I figured jmods may have wanted some say on its organisers.

Is that something you guys are actually keen on? And how long would you think it would take to deliberate with Matthe, get an app thread up and make choices?
We were ideally aiming at starting the cup soon after Runefest - and about 2 weeks or so minimum would have to be set aside for work the team has to complete after it's formed imo, not including 2-3 weeks for advertising after the cup announcement is made as well.

@shauny here is where I think our priorities are as for which done first.

1) what the prizes are.
2) cup organizers picked
3) (and most important) advertising

@Geeoh - prizes can be sorted out relatively quickly I think and can be decided anytime before the posting on the jcup announcement thread (can even be worked out fully after the announcement tbh). To be able to announce the competition we need all the spreadsheets and threads sorted though, and for that we need to sort out organisers asap -
