Was great to have a good pitch from Mod Mark about Clans during this years RuneFest, I'm quite positive about the future of Clans now, especially on the social element.

I was interested to hear that Mods have been asked what ideas they would bring to Clans; wondering if any of these ideas could be shared here? Proud Owner of the

They basically tossed clans in at the end of their reveals. All they said was "We think we wanna do something in 2018," which is what they've been telling us all along. They didn't point to any specific problems. They didn't say how they were going to fix things. They didn't offer insight on new features. They did nothing except for throw it in at the end because our frustrations were spilling over into Reddit.

I'm personally very offended by how they're treating Clans as a whole. It was one thing to give excuses privately here in CLF and the Discord, but it's another to do it at RuneFest. Also, how do we know it won't get pushed back to 2019 for "spaghetti code," and then 2020 after that?

My clan is considering a near total disbanding and switching over to better offsite tools to run things. It'd take stress off recruiting (since we wouldn't recruit them into an in-game clan), Discord could be our Clan Chat, and there's plenty of tools like RuneClan to track activity. @Lisaa_RS - Followed by @Runescape

No actually being serious, compared to previous years, we at least got a decent shout-out this year; if Clans weren't mentioned at all, I would agree Clans were just shelved again, but an actual proper mention is a positive thing.

Like all the updates mentioned I'm not expecting it tomorrow, but it does sound as if they are going to give proper development time this time. Proud Owner of the

I guess it's my own fault for getting myself hyped up thinking we were actually going to hear some exciting things planned for clans in 2018. I have to agree with Lisa. I feel like it was thrown in at the end to appease us.
"while it's not something we're working on today, it's something the whole studio wants to see in development for 2018."
What does that even mean? We have ideas but there is nothing in the works?
This could mean nothing will even get in development till the end of 2018, so then we have to look into 2019or beyond. I know some will say, wait and see what they have planned, but I've been waiting for years and I'm a little impatient now. :(

If they ever decide to do something that will fundamentally change clans and how they run (I've heard removing the citadel all together thrown about recently, which i am entirely against) they better come here and work with us from the very start.

We don't want what happened a few years back, where we got only a few days warning (if that) to one of the most controversial clan updates ever (7 day wait between clans). Since then I've had little faith when they say they care about us. Owner of

I'm skeptical like some of you above.
Still it's an improvement, but we still seem to be in for a long wait, that's all we seem to do.

You have 70% of people engaged in a piece of content.

Is there any chance we could have someone work from scratch & get the code right so we can have amazeballs updates in future.

I'm glad Shauny's on the team now.

My concern is that we hear these great words about everyone being 'challenged' to come up with good ideas, but what has happened in the past is that with all the other updates you've promised, many get delayed or require more work etc, & any developers that may have been assigned to clans get harvested to finish off the rest of the work from the other developers.



Clan are important to the future of Runescape.
I look forward to hearing of the numerous strong developers who will be on the CLAN team, & dedicated to it, unable to be harvested for other projects.

Never heard of the citadel being removed before. In my opinion I don't mind how long i wait, after all work on clans has been promised. The important thing is that us clan leaders stay motivated to provide good service for all our clan members.

The citadel is part of the clan as a whole, for clans that was the best thing ever done. If they remove that, they remove a very social part of most clans that keep up a citadel.


I dont care what they do but dont promise things and then dont deliver. I had rather hear nothing instead of getting my hopes up and get the bubble burst.


If they are out of ideas for clans let them come here, i have seen and heard many nice tidbits that would make clans more fantastic than they already are.

If they would take a deep breath and dont worry about another mob for a minute they could think about clans and make it bettter than it is. We have a lot of mobs, let that part of rs rest for a month or 2 while you think of Clans.

Or, is there not enough pple in Jagex to develop and work on 2 pieces of content at the same time?

Just, no matter what, if you say something, do it. I have 6 kids irl and i never promised something or said yes if i knew the answer was utimately no. Just keep the promises you make and dont try to appease us with a couple m&m's when everyone else is getting the whole pack. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.
