I would never have let any of them back in, and if I did, it would have been dangerous. They might have been spies trying to steal more members, which in fact they kept up for weeks, and worse it would have shown there were no consequences for their actions. If a Deputy or someone betrays you after all that time, would you ever trust them? Could they ever really have a seat next to you again?
This part reminds me of something our leader used to do in the past.

When a high-ranking clanmate would leave and want to rejoin after a few weeks or months, he'd ask them why they wanted to come back.

It sounds simple enough in premise, but the follow-up question is something that, to this day, no one has been able to answer. "Why do you think we'll let you back after you abandoned us?" No one who is asking to rejoin has been able to answer this question. They'll make excuses, avoid answering the question, or even just give up and ask for forgiveness.

If it was people who had left without causing a big dramatic commotion, he'd let them run their course of squirming, before letting them rejoin as a sergeant (A huge decrease from the rank they had before) and earn their way back up. There is not a single person who left the clan again after he asked them that question.

I'm largely a forgiving person, but it's uncommon that I simply forgive ranks who up and suddenly leave, even if it's peaceful.

All it causes is stress, why did they leave? What happened? It's one thing if they offer some form of resignation, ideally the best ranks that leave clans give 1 weeks notice to the owner out of respect and decency. When somebody doesn't even have the courage or integrity to do this for me, I'm usually apathetic to their needs and wants as well.

This might be a lot to expect of people on a virtual game, but loyalty is a critical root of clans, so is my belief, and I therefore don't have much tolerance for hoppers or people who just vanish.

You're ex-clan owner....Or whomever he is, asked a very good question.

I would say peer pressure has been an Achilles heel of mine, it's incredibly easy, and it almost always leads to chaos. Say you recruit people for their activity, stats, social presence, or anything in between and above. They make your clan look great, and active, but the expense is there are tell tale signs that some of them Bot, or are scammers, or simply put are A-holes.

Some of us have probably all turned a blind eye to something once or twice, and found that it eventually smacked us outright to the face.

What I'm getting at is, these people made their choice, and we all must lay in the bed the way we've made it, if you want them back, make sure it's not out of pressure....And trust me, it's almost always because of ego or peer pressure when we want certain folks even though they are blatantly double edged swords.
