I do believe that most of us are not looking for a single feature from the Clan Permissions Rewrite. I think the system as a whole is much needed, and therefore I really hope that you guys will make the resources available to continue this project. It would make running a clan a lot easier in general!

Absolutely. It feels too much like a 'kiss-off' for broken dreams, making it harder still just to appreciate getting even some of the needed individual features.

*By the by:
RuneLabs has re-opened again! Lend your support to the Clan Permission Update! Explain to your clans how imperative this is, share it on forums, and anywhere you can basically.

Unfortunately that is not going to happen - as outlined in the Clan Plan 2015 the Clan Permissions Rewrite as it stood was just too large a project and not going to be able to be developed. That is why we are pulling out individual changes we can find resource and development time to bring into game and doing so.

Just as with all things, it's sometimes hard to live/work within the confines of other people's rules and definitions. Exposure to the idea is the long-shot, but only-shot, way it seems to get this update done. Since RuneLabs seems to store ideas, as all times before and here and now, advertise what's in this update, share it as much as we can throughout the RS community (on 3rd party forums, etc), and keep pressure and persistence behind our demand for it.

*On the whole, it's rather WRONG (and pathetically ironic) that RuneLabs is the reason this update was discontinued and we now must either garner the support via the same crap system that knocked it off the map in order to obtain it. Seems like a very flawed system, and worthy of abandoning all hope for it, honestly. The idea itself however, is too important to just forget and forfeit though.

The Permissions Rewrite was not "discontinued" due to Runelabs - we, the DevCom1 team, examined our resource and agreed that we could not develop the project as planned. Some feature creep had occurred and the baseline of the project as outlined was simply too large for us to be able to obtain resources to produce (development and testing). As such we discussed at length the best way of us achieving as many of the goals of the project as possible and developed the Clan Plan for this year, where we cherry picked those parts of the Permissions Rewrite that we could develop independently while still ensuring that as much of the coding was compatible with intended future development.

TLDR; Permissions Rewrite being done, but in little chunks. Runelabs not affected it.

Although it's still fantastic to be getting some of these features, can you say with any certainty the project will eventually reach full fruition or nah? Also, are the 'cherry picked parts' currently in Q&T right now, or nah? Because as it stands, this is where we're being told what's been said before about alot of things. But this is/was a very large update (as you well know) that would have been infinitely helpful to the game's structure and gameplay - and even in parts, we currently don't know any of the status of those features (which for reference, we'll just say are part of this project, because they are) are currently at in the dev process. It's been a year and then some, it would seem that either something should be somewhere or nothing has been started. As much as I don't like 'official responses', and I know you're all limited to allowing only so much said for whatever reason (I'm under the impression it's due to company secrets or something), I know most people on the CLF can handle a straight answer about things. No - I cannot ever give "absolute" answers about future developments over which no one has any oversight currently, as you are talking too far into the future for such definitive answers. The Permissions Rewrite is an excellent example of that where on review the project was simply too big in dev and QA resource to be completable. Therefore we are cherry picking from it, but I cannot in anyway guarantee that all the features originally intended to be part of that project will enter the game - because sadly my fortune telling skills are not miraculous :)

We are currently working on the Mute function, as Mod Maz has discussed at some length on these forums, including the difficulties there have been around functionality for it.

Kind of unfortunate that the clan features take such a back seat. Clans are the backbone of membership. I was hoping that more could have been done when I got in on the ground floor of the clan rework a number of years back.
I dont want to seem ungrateful because a lot of great features have been added to the game which we have all enjoyed. I just believe that clans should remain some what on the forefront when considering additions to the game.
