Answering the survey made me think again what I like and I wish from the game.

What you felt, what you found there?

First thing for me is:

Does Jagex always need to make new content to me and fill my time with achievements, quests, events?

No, absolutely not!

I loved this time when I had ocean of time to do fun things with my friends, clan and random people we met at minigames, bosses, etc.

Also, people loved it and now they wish to have more free time in game to do something together. When people talk about "quality time" together. What's that? To me it needs to be something that is intense and important enough that you'll forget other things, it is human interaction that matters and improves you.

Look, back then before citadel, we, clan leaders had a lot freedom and fantasy in game to create our own events, host minigames and teams and we had will to do it. And back then we played it from heart, we had real fun and competition in minigames and bossing.

Our people doesn't have unlimited time. It means if Jagex makes something time consuming like citadel and then adds other achievements and throws loads of new stuff, the real quality dies, our closeness dies.

So I said to Jagex:
I want freedom to play RS as I like. Less quests, requirements, time consuming content. I came to fight bosses and have fun with my clan and friends! I love teaming, I love fantasy, creating my own game, leading my clan, hosting teams. I'm bothered of offensive people and autotalkers, I want them be corrected faster and harder.

I don't want quests or requirements to stop me, I actually want alternative ways to pass some quests. I want to play my own game not run after updates, quests, requirements.

We create contests, events with the clan and I host teams to people outside clan too. We have our own fantasy and will.

I wish to have more personalized rewards to people in clan, titles or something else to show off their role and achievements in the clan.

Now I ask, why Jagex even thinks that we will be bored without "new content" No. We're running some events years nonstop, every month. Skilling Week #7.10 just ended. We had a lot more clan events in past, before all this grind and avalance of achievements.

I'm not against new content but I wish more freedom to pick from it what I like and ignore what I didn't like. And if some other people liked it better I would just buy or swap some item or achievement even.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not doing anything against RS rules, I train, gear and improve my three accounts honestly.

You know how many people are tempted or actually asking friends to do their boss kills or quests or something else. Just to get something done or for keeping the completionist cape.

I want to make it official. I want to make it clear. If someone is unable to beat a boss, why can't they get assistance? Buy it in game, swap achievement with others.

Like T90 defenders. Some dislike Nex, some dislike Kalphite King even more. I love Conquest I would make void sets to people who doesn't like PC or Conquest. I didn't hate Livid Farm. I'm not offering anything to black market I'm just telling that I see a lot of people annoyed and sad abut content they can't do or hate to do.

Why are we even in this situation? I liked the game more when most items were tradable. Back then some people secretly bought Fire Cape only...

Jagex knows it all. See the IP's when some certain players are training other people accounts and getting their achievements and boss kills done.

So, first I would like more freedom for fantasy and our own activities in game but I also want freedom to swap some quests and other stuff with other players.

If it all sounds wild and weird, would Jagex even consider doing it rarely, sometimes? Even once or twice per year? Limited list of things?

Or reduce and remove part of troublesome content.

If Jagex allows Dungeoneering selling leech spammers, autotalkers to keep spamming without muting them all then Jagex should know there are things in game people want to buy or even want it not exist in game but as it exists they pay to get rid of it and play game for other things they enjoy more.

Autotalkers spam is it's ugly, against the rules, etc. Autotalker is a bot not player, you know it.

There should be global assistance system instead of such a spam.
And it should assist much more not just Dungeoneering skill.
A lot more AFK stuff is hosted and organized by fc Minigames
Makes me wonder why people even need to spend hours AFK if they don't play the minigames properly anyway, doesn't want and won't do if. Even if Jagex removed all AFK there, many would rage instead and refuse to play then.

It brings me back to the topic like "quality time" Maybe it was too long to read but understand me, I want my game time to be quality time and I'm willing to share my time with others. I'm one who loves fun (:

Not really clan related... But I can agree with you on some points. We do have many things in common like we both like running a clan, clan events and don't like autotalkers/cheaters.

The problem is that RS is a very diverse game cause some like it for the Quests, while others enjoy PVM or skilling. So it is very wise to come with a survey to see where they need to put their focus on.

I really would like going back to quality time, but there's one issue. RuneScape isn't much of a multiplayer game anymore. You're not going to boss with 10 people when you can easily solo it. The only bosses that require a bigger group are of the highest difficulty. All non-bosses are so easy to kill there's no point in attacking them with clanmates (besides, only 1 person gets the XP). Minigames were fun, but with EoC combat there's a massive split. 50% is ok with it and 50% dislikes it. Legacy isn't balanced in PvP minigames, so that's not an option either. PvP is simply not going to work until there's one combat system 80% or more enjoys. That leaves us with the skilling minigames which have rewards that were mediocre at best 5 years ago.

It would be much better if boss instances were scaled to the number of people entering, so with 10 people it would be easier than with 5 (but not too easy), but just as rewarding per individual. Otherwise people continue bossing with the lowest amount of people possible which is not in the spirit of a multiplayer game.

Minigames have to be updated to be relevant in 2017 and continue to be relevant.

Combat can't be ignored anymore, it's an issue in RS3. A little tweak once a year has really not brought it much further either.

As far as autotalkers go, they were somewhat condoned in the Wilderness and Clan Wars where they didn't harm others. There's an autochat function in OSRS as well, people don't want to type the same line over and over and over. Autotalkers simply filled that gap, despite being a macro they don't offer an ingame advantage (unless you sync it with your action bar ofcourse). I would rather see an equivalent of Shortkeys added to RuneScape for text, that can be filtered and used once every 5 seconds or so. As you can't really type much during EoC it would be really useful to give instructions to a team as well without having to type a line and miss 5 abilities.

I do find the frequent addition of new content, and especially time-limited content, gets in the way of my long-term goals. I always have to decide whether to do the new stuff immediately, or put it off till later.

Obviously, some of it is content I'm never planning to engage with at all, but I have a long list of "things I really must get round to eventually", and new content only makes that list ever-longer.

Actuallly, I agree with what you say about the 'then and now' but pretty sure that it couldn't go back - also your comments Fire Hawk154 are mostly spot on in my opinion.

I find it interesting that OSRS came about because people wanted to go back to 'how runescape used to be' but now it has a lot of updates. However the numbers of players online on OSRS vs RS3 has been consistently higher. Whatever it is, its an elusive quality - the Gower brothers were totally surprised by the original popularity of the game after all.

All I can say is, as a clan leader of 7 years, my skill set has had to change and adapt regularly. These days it's mostly about keeping reasonable cc conversations going, as people tend to be either totally afk or else totally focused. Citadel is becoming a burden, yes. It has always worked well for lower level people, and I am sure the median total vlvl for those still active on RS3 is rising and rising.

As for the achievements, I can also say that I have a list of short-term and long-term goals that never seems to diminish, but this has always been the case, its just the type of goals have changed. Personally, I don't give a tinker's cuss about Completionist and doubt I will ever do it, but it sure is what most players are (blindly I would say) striving toward.

Only thing I hate about that survey was Clan citadels cannot compete against such things as huge quests pple want or bank reworks... Just does not compete well.

I want citadels added to.. if they did that I would be forever grateful.

What i expect is a lot less. I always just hope they dont mess up anything we already like and is serviceable. Why do surgery on someone if they are not in need of it. Sometimes a "cosmetic type fix to make things look better" is not what is needed.
