----- It'd also be preferable to have a 1 - 15 minute warning before it goes, so you can dismiss it
without experiencing a penalty.

An interesting idea. I will add it to the list.

The owner having an icon to tell them how long they have left with the avatar is doable.
The players who have a buff on them is also possible, tho we wouldn't be able to tell you how long is left as that depends on whether the avatar gets dismissed etc.

They can both go on the list :-) -

The short answer is "still no, sorry"

The longer answer is that such a system incurs a lot of storage problems (which can be overcome with additional resources), a lot of access problems (which can be overcome with robust permissions and a certain amount of trust in clan leaders), a few interface problems (which can be overcome with a bit of paper prototyping), some interesting balancing problems (which can be overcome by making Timbo cry a bit) and a lot of communication problems between clan bank and clan and clan bank and world and clan and world (which can be overcome with engine work).

As always, it's not an impossible task. There's no problem I've listed which doesn't have its solution right next to it. The reason it's not happening right now, and won't happen for the foreseeable, is that we've got most of a developer, half of a designer and all the QA and engine time we can scrounge (not much) to bring you any given clan update.

This means we have to prioritise very carefully on what gives the most people the biggest benefit for the effort, particularly when looking for engine work etc, and there are things which are more feasible to do for similar benefit. -

Not much to say here for now.

Several avatar buffs are currently not very compelling, and I'd like at some point to address this via the usual CLF-prioritised list of stuff-to-do. Your analyses of which buffs are suffering correspond quite closely to mine; specific solutions may require rebalances of the sort you've mentioned or might involve replacing the less favoured buffs entirely.

Add a rank to which an inactive founder may demote himself, which holds the right to replace the new clan leader if the founder returns:

There are a number of issues with this suggestion.

1) We do not store the data of who the founder is. This means that we would have to start storing it. And every existing clan would not have that data stored for them.

2) To create an additional Admin rank would require a significant amount of engine work.

3) The term Patriarch is not one we would use (though this is a minor issue)

4) A significant number of the issues caused by inactive leadership will be resolved by the new permissions rewrite.

It is not a change we would want to make, currently. -

This is not a development we would look to support - there are a number of issues, some technical, some moderation based that make it very difficult design wise to implement and the quality of life improvement it would provide is not substantial when compared to the development workload it would generate. -
