This has been suggested at the CLF meeting but was a little hard to explain there. But I will try to make it as clear as possible here.

The citadel had its buildtick and the goals have to be set. To keep this simple we only need precious bars for this upkeep/upgrade week. The goal for this week is 1000 precious bars.

The goal for precious bars is set to lock at 1000.
The goal for charcoal is set to lock at 1000.
The goal for precious ores is set to lock at 1000.

Now if more clanmembers are working on these goals you can 'abuse' the automatic locks. Imagine the following situation:

Clanmember A comes first and gathers 900 precious ores and 900 charcoal.
Clanmember B comes second and smiths these 900 precious ores and charcoal into 900 precious bars.

Then clanmember C comes and mines 900 precious ores as well.

We now have a residue of 800 precious ores because we only needed 1000 precious bars, thus only 1000 precious ores.
Since the precious ore goal wasnt reached by clanmember A, then smithed up by clanmember B, it was possible for clanmember C to go over our inital goal of 1000 precious ores.

The fix for this would be that with every 1 bar smithed, the goal for charcoal and ores gets automatically decreased by 1 as well. This will prevent clans from having excessive amounts of charcoal/ores at the end of the build week, without having reached the bar goal.

I hope this is clear enough this way. If not, please let me know and I will try to improve my story :p

The next question would be. Is it possible to implement such thing?

Or... the lock for ores and charcoal could be based on the total amount of ores and charcoal collected in the citadel, rather than the current amount (total amount - ores and charcoal used for bars)...

So let's say the lock for ores is 2000, 800 are collected, 400 are used, 400 are left over. The amount displayed on the lock would still be 800/2000, rather than 400/2000.

I'm assuming there's something unfeasible about this idea though, I posted it on the first page of the last Clan Plan and noone got back to it :(

I'm glad you found a way to explain the problem that's clear and concise, lol. I have been trying to explain how this works to clannies who are like "why cant we smith yet?" for years, haha!

Yes, I think a fix for this would be absolutely marvelous. It would, at the very least, make upkeep much less of a hassle than it is each week.

It would help even if the ore/charcoal goals automatically reduced themselves (adjusted) as smithing was done. That way we didnt have to math, work, math, work, math. Or just keep smithing locked until the supplies are done.

Support! Another idea would be to calculate Total Amount Mined/Collected. This would NOT be displayed in minigame interface rather it should be displayed in Citadel Interface.

I also wonder if we could have two lock on target settings for each resource. The first target for upkeep and the second for upgrades. We already have the data available for what's needed for upkeep and upgrade each week. The plots could auto-lock as the cost of upkeep is reached. Once upkeep is complete for all resources, all plots auto-unlock and the process basically starts over for upgrades.

This might be helpful since getting upkeep each week is the first priority to avoid coming up short on one or more resources and ending up with a dilapidated citadel at the next build tick.
