Having talked with Moltare, it looks like we could do something like the following:
- Remove the ability to set targets on the ore and charcoal plots. Instead, when a target is set on a bars plot (either, or, both), calculate what target is needed for the ore/charcoal plots, based on how many bars are needed.
- As you make bars, the targets for ore and charcoal reduce appropriately.
- Auto plot locking on target will be default for the charcoal/ore plots.
- This will not affect manual plot locking, so if you wanted to lock the charcoal/ore plots, you can.
However this will need to be added to the long list of updates. If people like it.

Or... the lock for ores and charcoal could be based on the total amount of ores and charcoal collected in the citadel, rather than the current amount (total amount - ores and charcoal used for bars)...
So let's say the lock for ores is 2000, 800 are collected, 400 are used, 400 are left over. The amount displayed on the lock would still be 800/2000, rather than 400/2000.

Glad I find this topic instead of creating another dupe. Was the idea I wanted to propose.
I just can't believe nobody had bothered mentioning or noticing this until now. Years laters. I noticed this on week one of release and figured it had been reported alot - and just went ignored. Haha.

Ill agree as I can see leaders clearly want it,
but....
Personally speaking, and being devils advocate I would say why people don't adopt the citadel style I use for my clan that being
Every week we need to to mine 4690 precious ore, 3920 ore and make 8610 charcoal.
What I do is I manually lock the smithing plot and once all the ore and precious ore has been mined and charcoal collected I manyally lock them and open up smithing.
I think this is an easy soloution if I have understood the issue.
I would personally prefer Maz do awesomely continue working on her very long list and for us to see the clan permission rerite and Innactive clan owner solution out as soon as possible.
I have not understood the issue I do appologise and If someone can put it in lament terms I would greatly appreciate it.
We lock no plots at our citadel & have nothing wasted. We simply calculate what each plots numbers will be for each clan member so that everyone does a little at each plot. (Ex. Wood 332, stone 236, coal 384, ores 209, prec 175, bars 209, prec bars 175, cloth 309, rations 86 & sum 235) Should we have leftover ores we simply have a ppl we can count on to clean them up.
Presently since the only number we can control is the first one that appears on the line Clan Total XXXX/4955,we use that to convey to each person when they go up what we expect for them to do at that plot. My clan would like to see a way to attach those numbers to the plot so that it locks after each person as they finish the number we specify for each. This would stop ppl from going over the specified 332 on wood or whichever plot they are on and allow us to share the xp at the citadel evenly with everyone. We also don't hear complaints about how some who can't do resources till later in the week don't get to work on their mining, firemaking, smithing, or their craft which we hear other clans have complaints about.

Yes I definitely support this.
I have a low tier citadel, so it's not a huge issue for me at the moment, but I could see it being an issue in the future.

Its sad to see that this has been put aside. To be honest I think it is time to do a clan month with loads of clan-related updates such as the temporary mute, skill plot locks and some other stuff which is on the list for a long time!
