I don't support the ability to remotely invite players into a clan. Out of all the potential clan updates, this suggestion is not only unnecessary but is also a rather lazy and impersonal approach to clan recruitment.

Theres a strange notion that having to actually see the recruiter is somewhat more personal than talking through pm, its a wrong notion, theres no difference to talking to someone pixel character to pixel character as there is pming one another. Theres absolutely no difference except two people having to use a bit of their own time on having to do the same thing and potentially disrupt what they could be doing at the specific time.

Whether you have to meet up or not makes absolutely no difference to impersonaility of the arrangement its just all psychological, youre still behind a computer screen all the same typing to each other.

It has very little to do with the method of communication being the same and everything to do with placing whatever you're doing at the time as more important than who you're inviting into your clan.

There have been several times I was in an unsafe area when asked to invite someone. I stopped what I was doing and met them in a more convenient spot. It's not that difficult.

Other times the player wanting an invite was in an area inconvenient to inviting (aggressive monsters) and we just arranged to meet when they were finished. Simple.

The lazy attitude towards so many things in this game is astounding at times.

Laziness and convenience are two very different things and you have just yourself given some very good examples of why this very idea is a good one.

Do you use a remote control for your tv?

I've always wondered why the "Add friend" button on the Vex (That adds the person who placed it) exists. Seems to me that "Join clan" or "Request invite" would be more practical. Clans could of course decided whether or not they want it there, based on their clan requirements.

I recommend meeting your Clan Members in real life

I make really bad dad jokes and will spontaneously burst out into song (can't actually sing)

Those saying "no" thus far have only based it upon personal bias and preferences, not technical aspects or feasibility nor usefulness to the overall gamescape... Just sayin'. Having/giving other people more options and buffing the robustness of a game feature hardly interferes with your personal needs. Clan:

Can you guys program it so if somebody has placed a Vex up, and the players are in the same world, they can click a button on the vex below "add friend" that says "request invite" - this would send an invite inquiry to the player that placed the vex. This could be toggled on or off using "accept aid" features, or create a new similar boolean process for this function. Essentially got the idea from the grouping system and how it sends screen invites. It would save so many people so much time and hastle.

Technical issue #1: Any clan member with a vex currently has the ability to place it. But not all clan members have the rank and permission to invite. This means that they would serve as an intermediary between the player wanting an invite and a clan rank who can invite. So much for convenience.

Technical issue #2: Players can be confused by the "accept aid" feature already. Some don't even know where it is in the setttings. How much time and effort that would actually be saved might be negligible.

Practical aspect: Out of all the things on our wish list, this feature is probably pretty low on the list.

Last point, has a j mod given any indication of feasibility? Things we might think would be easy to implement are sometimes actually complicated.

Anyhoo, I suppose I don't care all that much either way. I'd take the time to go invite personally regardless for the same reason I avoided cut-and-paste replies on the LFC forum.

@ Scret Re: Issue #2 I listed earlier. I was viewing it as how things work in a practical sense. Some players do have problems finding settings like "Accept Aid".

We'll wait and see if development time is devoted to remote invite in the future.

Time to reach over and change my tv channel by pressing the button with my finger. =P

And as I said, another could easily be added and accessible from the clan interface similar too, or combined as a part of 'accept aid'. It's really no more confusing TBH - most players seem to barely understand any given interface of this game as it is most of the time and need walked through it more often than not anyways.

And yes, you raise a good point with "#1", but that seems like something easily worked out. The button would only be enabled for someone that has permissions that placed a vex - since their name is displayed on the planted vex, as the game fetches that info, it can also fetch the info whether they can invite. So, can invite = button displayed. Can't invite = button not on display. Bam. Fixed.
