Dunno why its a massive problem in todays Runescape, never use to be the case, people just dealt with it themselves, obviously if its down to a major bug then it is the problem of the developers but this is far from a major bug and is extremely preventable.

Also if youre new and inexperienced you probably wont have much money to lose anyways.

Its only extremely preventable if people know about it. A major fault Jagex has is not admitting their mistakes. See if they know about this particular issue, and that it will take a while to fix (and its already been years) they should have a warning... somewhere, talking about it. They don't. They pretend like it doesn't exist, just like most of their other bugs or glitches. Some are too big to hide, so they release statements. This one is relatively tiny, yet still not fixed.

And if you're new... with the release of bonds new people can get a lot of money fast. New people who want to play legit could also spend countless hours grinding money, which then can be stolen. If that happens there's a good chance that person will quit.

It's true that Jagex can take more steps to inform people i wont deny that but the same can be said of the player, most people jump into things without taking the time to understand what may happen or go wrong.

They dont pretend it doesnt exist it just isnt a big priority to them.

And I know bonds and mtx are part of the game now but i have no sympathy for people losing anything if they have paid for it, might sound harsh but for me it wouldnt do them any harm in understanding the values of actually achieving in the game instead of buying their way through it. a lesson that the entire gaming community needs.

When this happens and someone does fall for it, it can have other negative consequences through a clan also. In one instance I had a rift form because a friend of someone who got scammed couldn't be convinced that the real player hadn't done the scam and continued to call this fact in cc every time the impersonated player logged in. In the end, the confused clan member left over the issue, he was that sure he was right. Also the person who got scammed was talked about in a negative way for some weeks afterward.

Tyras you're taking a very negative approach to this. If Jagex are working on it then trust them. For now it is noted that it is the players fault for trust trading.
Me personally I never trust trade anyone. In my clan we don't allow trust trading and if anyone does it; it's not in the clan.

Furthermore players just need to become more aware of scams. There are lots, and usually players become gullible with the whole bribery.
