Well yes, but I'm specifically talking about Jagex not fixing a major issue over a very long time. Oh they always do that >_> Like the clockwork cat lure and group teleport lure. But I'm happy that they fixed the wardrobe lure last week and are fixing dual arena scams soon (ninja teaser).

Duel arena scam is the Capital I scam. It wouldn't exist if the font was different.

exactly. The number 1 priority with any game developer should be to fix whats broken.

it is absolutely not a players fault if a scam like this, where by the oversight and lack of change from the developers, someone with the exact same name as one of your friends, clan members, or whatever ask you for your help or trust or money.

In what world would you have to verify each letter of their name to decide if its them or not? Why would you consider this the players fault, if their friend (who is not actually their friend) asks them for their help?

Its absolutely the players fault.

There will always be a new scam around the corner, the real fix is to get smart about it.

Continuing to recognise that its not the players fault is part of the problem, if people cant accept its themselves who have been careless and want to blame someone else then they will never learn, Jagex are not here to hold our hands.

Do you not see how this is flawled logic and part of the problem.

Scams should not exist, if and when they come up people who abuse the scams should be banned, and the game developers should do their absolute best to fix the issue and prevent it, as soon as they know about it.

Having one of your friends ask you for money, and them turning out to be an imposter literally cannot be your fault, that is just absurd.

Imagine if there were other things that scammers could use, simply due to Jagex oversight, would you blame the player as well? What if scammers had a way to get you into a raid boss, get you skulled, and you lose all your items which they can then pick up? Is it your fault you went to raids, when the real issue would have been jagex not fixing a massive bug?

What about in deadman mode, or darkscape if it still existed. If youre in a safe area, but just 2 of the blocks near that area are not actually safe, because jagex messed up. What if youre buying something, someone trades you, and then runs to that unsafe area. When you trade them, you too will run into the unsafe area, and then get killed. Also your fault because jagex messed up?

No. Not at all your fault, or anyones fault other than the scammers. You should not condemn those who are new or less experienced simply because they don't know how to prevent something that Jagex should have fixed in the first place.

P.S. the above 2 examples are not a thing, that I know of. They are simply anecdotes.

Dunno why its a massive problem in todays Runescape, never use to be the case, people just dealt with it themselves, obviously if its down to a major bug then it is the problem of the developers but this is far from a major bug and is extremely preventable.

Also if youre new and inexperienced you probably wont have much money to lose anyways.
