That leaves me with a spider problem.

Arch, it's a dummy account, if it isn't banned it will only be online briefly to scam.
It's chat will not be on. There can be no harassment etc.

Elf I openly admit I don't know what can be done, that's why I'm appealing to fellow leaders who care about their clanmates.
Mod Matthe can look after himself.
Even knowing if it was reported in time would be something.

There's a difference btw being angry & not being in control emotionally.

I know now that you've gone down the path of replying the way you have makes it hard to stop, & there will likely be more.
I'm not against you, I don't think badly of you, you don't make me angry, I understand why you are posting the way you are.

We all here understand what it is to care about our clan members < 3
For more serious matters involving real life things there wouldn't be a purpose posting here.

For this matter specifically I'm looking for the help of my fellow leaders.
To me it's a serious in game matter, I can't 'wipe them out' as I'd like, because I have no way to track where the money goes.

Arch & Elf I understand you can't help.
This thread is for anyone who can.

Assuming who other clan leaders know & what they can do would be arrogant.
That's why I am appealing here, for any who can help.

I'd love someone to look at this directly, but even knowing if it was reported in time would be something.

If anything, action should be taken against you.

You're openly looking for Clan Leaders with 'connections' to wipe someone out instead of doing the right thing. Which is reporting it on the 'Flag a Concern' thread that I mentioned from my very first post. THAT is an option you have as a Clan Leader.

In return I get a disrespectful and quite nonsense reply back:

You ignore the grave mistakes you're making by posting here, the way you did. It is utterly shameful to see this spam on CLF which could have easily have been avoided if you did your job right.

It doesn't take a whole lot to do some research on how to report situations like this. Instead you're going on a crusade to try and cause harm to whoever did this by yourself and encouraging others to join you.

Had you posted the situation as followed:

"A clan member got scammed, what are my options?"

Then that would've been great and without a doubt you'd have been given the answers straight away. But no, you're taking it upon yourself to set this straight by ... again .. trying to cause harm to them.

When all you should have done, is a few minutes of research, send in reports on CLF and what Pippyspot mentioned.

That's it!

I'm not against you because you're looking for help, I disagree strongly with HOW you're going about this.

Clearly you don't understand that, nor the posts of other CL's pointing out how wrong YOU are for posting the way you did. You can't take criticism? Then don't post here. Pleasure in the job, puts perfection in the work.

Elf I think I've worked out how you're reading it.
The meaning which I thought was clear when I wrote it was that if I had a magic wand I'd wave it so that those who enjoy hurting others didn't exist.

It wasn't specific to this 1 person, as I said previously there's bigger things than this game, but this is a game issue.

The account used to scam would be a throw away account, the 3rd & 4th line of text in my 1st post on page 2 addresses this.

Wow Uplift is that true that people get scammed for billions each day? :O
& yeah I'm thankful for Pippy's help :) It definitely gave me some hope.


Ooh I just thought of something I remember hearing about a while ago!

Is any unbalanced trade data automatically sent to Jagex for review?
& if so what is the criteria for unbalanced trade in this case?
Imagine if the cutoff was 1b, & this trade was like 990m or something (I don't know the exact figure).

Still too much of this going on :( Just had a friend cleaned out - everything that was tradable removed from bank in a 15- 20 minute period as they took a break. Like so much in game they didn't bother to report, they know there is no point.

Always amuses me how the security we are told to use is useless. Authenicator gets switched off if there is a query on your account & it gets frozen, like when traveling different ip areas are detected ( in this case he had forgotten to switch it back on after the last pw reset) or the would be hackers force an account lock and pin numbers take 7 days to set up but can be switched off immediately by whoever gets into account.

Scammed, hacked all the same money hungry scum that get away with it day upon day, and those who it has never happened to are superior and blame the silliness of the victim (no it could never happen to you :) ).

& with this friend of yours, I'm not even sure how they would report, I know in the past it has been difficult if for example there hasn't been any chat for the last minute.

But I haven't used the report system recently so maybe it wouldn't be difficult?

I always tell clanmates to report no matter what, because having some info sent to Jagex is better than none.

I'm still hoping to learn if my clanmate sent in time or if unbalanced trades at about 1 bil are auto looked at.

I remember something about unbalanced trades in the past but it was ages ago & I don't know the state of play currently.

In the case of your friend there also would have been a massively unbalanced trade somewhere.

I don't think in either case your friend or my clanmate will get anything back, but knowing that the scammers had been perma banned would still be some comfort.

People say security is useless but there are plenty who have never had a problem with scamming or hacking, do you think thats down to luck? It seems thats what youre saying.

yep

If you get noticed in game by the wrong people they will get you if they really want you no matter what bells & whistles you add cause security in this game is too easy to override
