Current system:
Hour-2 of dull gameplay with no dynamic elements, considered a chore at best

Not very competitive xp rates

At best people cap to maintain their avatars and the 5% xp boost which realistically, as people don't NEED more than 2 avatars, there isn't a real reason to progress past level 5 cita or so

Flaws:
For those that do want to contribute to the citadel, the max cap really inhibits a clan's ability to progress

Due to this limit, clans and their leaders only recognize completed 'caps' which limit the amount of people who would have contributed, even if it was just a small amount of resources (anything helps)

Massive opportunity cost to those who don't gain 10m+ xp per week and those who don't care about xp. The 5% boost is only beneficial if that gain outweighs the time you spend and the potential xp/gp earnings you withheld. Many don't meet this criteria and feel their time spent at the citadel is a waste.

Citadel benefits promote leeching. Most clans can get by on upkeep with a small percentage of their clan actually doing the capping. This is unfair and unwise that the system promotes having other people doing the work for you while you reap the benefits.

Citadel provides negligible benefits in pvming, which from what I've seen is the majority interest of the community.

Upkeep should be lowered. I'm not entirely sure how it scales to clan size or if it does at all, but regardless upkeep should be lowered. It takes several months for your average clan that doesn't use alts just to progress from one lower level to the next. Clans should be pushed towards progress, not barely staying afloat and drowning under the dilapidated citadel.

Theres nothing dynamic about visiting the citadel. There is no fun with capping at the citadel. Its just mindless afk clicking.

Some of my ideas
1. Restrict avatar buffs to just those who contributed at least 400 resources to the previous week's resource total

2. Rework the entire way resources are gained. There needs to be either a fun method, a better xp gaining method, a faster method, or a more profitable method.
3. Reduce how much work needs to go into upkeep, scale it to how many active members the clan has (how many have gained xp in the previous week)
4. Increase incentive to getting higher tier citadel. possibly have ava buffs increase with higher citadel tier. Have clan dragon work as an OP avatar with possible pvm benefits. Have capping speed increase exponentially with higher tiers if you don't want to rework system.
5. Possibly add summoning familiar like boosts to the avatar, nihil type buff, or steel titan like buff
6. Allow more customization within the citadel. If a sandbox type area was added- think garry's mod/minecraft, assuming it was fun to do, citadel would attract a lot more visitors.
7. Custom cloaks, pets, titles, etc to those who reach t7

ill add more as i think of them

In summary, how can we make people like myself cap when theres no incentive in doing so.

I agree with most points.
I also run a clan who doesn't want to force all the clanmates to cap - for various reasons. Some ONLY play once a month, some only on their school breaks, and others just don't like the citadel -especially IM.

I don't want to have to be the naggy leader making my whole clan do something only about 1/3 enjoy. I'm ok with this! We make upkeep and the desired upgrades we want every week, without making others feel 'forced' to go cap or visit :)

the real problem with your clan is the lack of new players and the lack of active players.
-my clan now has 40 actives (now 20 due exams) out of the 100 (we kicked those 60)

I've made a new clan and kept track of all cappers and stuff. out of my conclusion i can tell loads of people don't know of the citadel at all (and it's purpose) while some others don't now the good things about citadel, and since you say cita is bad exp I'll include you as well.

Citadel gives loads of exp, especially with fealthy rank 3.
The only thing I'd love to see added is a killable creature similar to the world event creatures and maybe in a similar fashion of how minions work (a resource that counts toward any required resource)
Mini-games, minigames. I love you click HERE!!! if you do too!

We keep our citadel barely afloat to allow access to the avatars. I will 100% agree with you on this

; because the scenario you use actually happens to our clan:

Citadel benefits promote leeching. Most clans can get by on upkeep with a small percentage of their clan actually doing the capping. This is unfair and unwise that the system promotes having other people doing the work for you while you reap the benefits.

I agree. Something has to be tweaked for incentive's sake. I support idea number 1 on your list:
Restrict avatar buffs to just those who contributed at least 400 resources to the previous week's resource total.

When Clan Avatars were first introduced, our clan decided to craft rules and standards that governed the Avatar Wardens to uphold the harmony among those with access.
Rule 6 states: Visit the clan citadel once a week.
Even with being the clan leader, rule 6 is ignored which is why I am fascinated with your idea number 1; and what it potentially brings to the table.

Here is why: If I remove Avatar Warden access for not following this rule, that would make me the bad guy. The person who is demoted would end up leaving the clan, which is what I don't want to happen.
Your idea would remove the need for our rule 6 to even exist.
Instead of leaders having to restrict access, Avatar Wardens would restrict their own access by not achieving the 400 resource requirement.

Now for an idea.
Anagogic orts. Anagogic orts are a nice feature, but majority of the orts I collect are collected outside of the citadel. Ack Ah Argh Aye! Does no one else see a problem with this? Anagogic orts which are meant to grant the weekly buff from the avatars, which are accessed in the citadel, majority of the orts are earned outside of the citadel. Anagogic orts could be merged with citadel capping.

The End. :)

I dont know how i feel about this, since my clan has a t7 with capping only mandatory for admin + ranks. This more than gets us our weekly upkeep. However we still easily get over 30 cappers a week. The incentive to capping shouldn't necessarily be about personal gain, it's a way to give back to the clan for being the clan.

I like the idea that only those who contribute get avatar bonus, but then again, for my clan, they have put in the work over the last 3 years - we got our tier 7 back before the visit counts were reduced. I wouldn't want to restrict my clan mates rewards because they have put in the work, and its their time to sit back and enjoy the fruit of their labours.

However. I do feel the pain of others who aren't as lucky as i am, how frustrating it is to lose all the hard work put in over the years to get to where they are.

So, I'm sitting firmly on the fence on this one.
