I returned to Runescape last December of 2015 so all this information is secondhand, but apparently there was a clan competition 2 years ago. It's different from the Clan Cup, but when asked if the competition would happen again this year, MattHe's response said no and also had no mention of a Clan Cup.
So I have a feeling another Clan Cup isn't in the works, but I hope I'm wrong.

If they announce plans of 2016 Clan Cup before my clan even receive any of our rewards, ill be disappointed lol. The clan plaque has not even been updated yet and all we've been given is Soon™s for the last 8 months >.>
Personally I don't think a 2016 Cup should happen unless there is far more of an invested interest from Jagex (rather than single-handed by Matthe) so that the delivery of results, answers, rewards and general organisation of the Cup is better than last year.
I felt the year before last was much more organised, not quite sure what happened. Wasn't such a hype around last year's cup either, hoping if something does happen this year, its done differently to attract more interest.
Personally I don't think a 2016 Cup should happen unless there is far more of an invested interest from Jagex (rather than single-handed by Matthe) so that the delivery of results, answers, rewards and general organisation of the Cup is better than last year.

Well if Matthe was in charge of the last one it looks very doubtful, clans aren't his priority.
I'm not sure they are any J-Mod's priority currently are they?
Same old story isn't it, I can't see an end to our frustration any time soon.
Ye I'd also like to know why te one 2 years ago seemed to be run better.
Did they try for too much?
3 years ago it was just run by clans.
I wonder where it would be if it was still in their hands.

With all due respect to Maz, I hope she recovers. This responsibility is not solely hers though, Matthe said the same thing months ago to me. It's also down to the design team to produce something, not Maz or Matthe. They are pretty much saying because 1 clan is being slow at giving them a submission (and don't seem to be chasing them up about it) they are putting all the other clans on hold. It's ridiculous, I gave them a picture to work with in March and 4 months later, they've made no effort to produce anything for us because 1 clan hasn't given them an appropriate design..?
Surely it wouldn't be an unreasonable request for the arts team to get to work the the designs they have at the moment..
I really can't understand how a company as large as Jagex, is struggling to stick to a reasonable deadline to provide a small novelty reward for their players. It's embarrassing that things didn't get a move on until several reddit posts were made which highlighted how poorly organised things have been.
As you can tell, this whole situation really frustrates me and I feel that if myself and other clan leaders didn't make a fuss throughout all this, we probably wouldn't be receiving anything (assuming we will eventually get it)
I'm not sure if we would even bother competing in a cup this year given how poorly things have been handled.
