THIS IS AWESOME, woo! I actually never got a chance to ask my friend to double check her orts again because I kept forgetting and the topic of never really came up again. I know that the biggest reason discouraging her from leaving her clan to join The Name is because she wanted access to the avatar, so it was a pleasant surprise being able to pay her buffs :)

However, it's difficult to make use of the avatar when you don't know whether your buff's still active...today I checked the health of a yew tree and I didn't get the avatar bonus for it, because my buff ran out :(

If orts carry over, why even have them?
Just make buffs free.

It's a bit of chopping & changing to suit yourself it looks like.
Previously you said they wouldn't as it represented your loyalty or words similar.

A skeptic might read the concession as 'we cbf trying to fix it'.

,
Could you follow up on your first post?
You said they could pay, but not get buff.

Did you sort it out so they did get buff?
Did they have to wait an amount of time?
Did they have to gain 300 orts in new clan?
Or was it just a standard ava bug & they had to relog & they got buff?

Since this is unexpected behaviour, it's interesting that they couldn't get buff, so I'm wondering if you've figured out how it works.

The classmate in question paid with orts from a previous clan, and apparently had gotten the buff initially ( I wasn't logged in when this happened). When I logged in it was to him stating he wasn't getting the buff. We tried all the logging in /out stuff that usually works but still he wasn't getting it and he logged out after too long. Unfortunately he has since left the clan so can't say if there was a waiting period or not.

If I remember Ill ask some of the other new clanmates if they get the buffs immediately

The previous reasoning for buffs resetting was because buffs were meant to reward loyalty to an individual clan. But I'm fine with this update because it still represents loyalty to the clan system, which I personally support more than loyalty to one clan in particular. This is the same reason behind why I don't support players receiving loyalty capes for being in the same clan for more than 5 years.

I saw the swirl around my clannie, and I think she said she was still getting the bonuses, but I'd have to double check on that. It's been a while, but I'll ask her if she was certain she was getting the bxp.

Right...

This is not the expected behaviour but after some significant discussion it is likely we will maintain that behaviour. Enjoy! :)

Sounds good, I let my clan know to not do a bug report for it.
