Nobody cares about minigames, nor nobody ever did except in era when there was not much to do on rs in the early years. The only reason why minigames used to played is because rewards, which are outdated now. just like minigames are as concept anyway. Spotlight offers better rewards, so people play the same minigame every 3 days, then it cycles to another one, so consider this dead content already revived and nothing else should be done about it, these rewards are already op enough to get people to play. If you want that 2007 feel just go back to playing OSRS which is stuck exactly there outdated by 10+ years.
If you need to do a task just wait until the required minigame is on the spotlight, then you will have no problem getting it.
list of minigames that are needed for tasks
Ardougne Tasks: Castle wars - 3 tasks: play a game, win a game and use the catapult
Ardougne Tasks: Fishing trawler - loot a manta ray - can be soloed.
Canifis tasks: The great orb project - get enough credits to make a blood tablet and use it
Just do all of these even if not currently completing a certain task set, this will save you trouble in future.
Oh and soulwars was shit, the only reason why the minigame was so busy in 2011 is because all of the bots, nobody else really enjoyed that minigame (or any other) to play it for many hours every day, this is why as soon as bots were dealt with on rs3 playerbase took major impact and so did minigames, there was like 25 players instead 800 and soon after soulwars died.
