Hello Elipile,
I've had a read through the first few pages and the more recent pages of the thread and you've done some quite good analysis of the penguin clues. I did however notice that there has been a recent change to one of the clue areas that I thought that I'd inform you about :) .
On our adventures through W71 a few days ago, we trapped the Eagles' Peak penguin in the dead woods area to the west of the Observatory. One of my friends went to Chuck to find a clue for another penguin when they came across the clue "West of Ardougne, in the hills". A few of us went to check it just to make sure that it existed and it looks as though another clue area has formed!
We got the clue again today just before the system update and went back to the area to discover that the penguin had waddled its way over to the dead trees trap just west of the Observatory again.
I would personally say that the clue area itself is not very big but I haven't personally had chance to see how large the clue area is myself. I just thought that I would bring it to your attention so that you could include it in one of your future penguin analysis posts :) .
Take care,
IceyNut.

Hi Icey,
Aren't the clues fascinating? Just when you think you know them there always is something new.

This area of "somewhere in RuneScape" was found after the graphical update of trees on western areas. After it the bushes west of hill giants were no longer blocking nor the trees north of Castle Wars. Now it seems to have got a clue of its own. How nice!!
We tested the area on 8th of March. I posted it on weekly analysis on page 51 and updated later on clue listings on page 1, but unfortunately my clue border posts have all reached their character limits. I should re-write them all.

Anyways, on our tests we found that the border between "somewhere in RuneScape" and "South of Ardougne" is same as between "North of Ardougne" and "around Ardougne" -- 0'16'' west / 0'15'' west. I assume this is the border for the new area also, but it needs to be tested.

I think the whole map of clues is being built sort of quilting clue patches on the bottom layer - which I assume is "somewhere in RuneScape" - and on larger clue areas. This would explain why new areas, like for example Phoenix lair in Piscatoris, Daemonheim and this soutwest of ZMI and northwest of Castle Wars, have first mostly been with this clue. Often these new areas are also without music.
Odd though is the narrow stripe of "somewhere in RuneScape" northwest of Arandar gates. It looks like the elven clue area has been misplaced 3 squares off to west :P
Thank you Icey for sharing your founds. I am always happy notice other players find clues as fun and interesting as I do.

/ /\ Clue analysis of the week - v201 on Penguin Locations thread - on post 2.6 /\ \
v_/_ .................................................................................................. _\_v

This week offers us 4 roamers, of which 3 are western and 1 from east.
Cw bush and Feldip rock start from south. Most likely penguin to be found in the Oo'glog bolder trap (near some ogres) is Feldip. Cw may also find its way there if it starts towards south. If it starts north then the closest and also likely trap is the dead trees trap west of hill giants (west of Ardougne, in the trees). It may also head to Ardougne and past it.
Northwest Ardy bush may take a tour to Piscartoris hunter area but it will eventually come down and go east to Ardougne and past it. Most commonly it will head towards Seers area and its traps in anvil, churchyard or by the bridge west of Sinclairs (somewhere in the kingdom of Kandarin). It may also find Keep Le Faye trap (on coast, west of Ardougne) or Catherby docks trap (near a mountain of wolves).
Eastern Goblin Village bush may stay in the village but most likely is bumped out. If it goes past the gates to Taverley and turns north it may get in Dead Plateau (where Imperial Guard train). If it starts south it may find the Falador Castle bridge trap (in the kindom of Asgarnia). If it heads east it may end up on area east of Draynor Manor (in the kindom of Misthalin) or even in the blue urn trap at Digsite (in the kindom of Misthalin).
And like always, any roamer may end up in any of the self traps, also across the White Wolf Mountain.

This weeks umbrella clues are from Port Phasmatys and East Karamja.
-- where bloodsuckers rule (Port Phasmatys) -- hides any roamer at Temple of Paterdomus and by river east of Digsite, and Mort Myre on its main area
-- deep in the jungle (East Karamja) -- hides any roamer on Mudskipper Point

Sorry Elipile for not helping you these last few weeks. Between 12-14 hour work days and being one of the 50k BETA testers I've been very busy. Just wanted to post that I haven't forgotten about clues and penguins just yet. :)
And nice that west of observatory now has a clue. I was looking for it in Patch Notes every week but it hasn't made the cut.

No worries Bill. Penguins, clues and clue borders are not gonna vanish.

Very much similar week as last one: 4 roamers, 3 western and 1 eastern.
Just replace Gnome Maze and Port Khazard on the place of Cw peng (and Feldip), Piscatoris on Nw Ardy and Ice Mountain on Goblin Village. Only difference is that Seers area traps are most likely more occupied than last week.
Every roamer is still able to get in any of the open area self traps, but now they are easy to identify as everyone is using different disguise.

This weeks umbrellas are from Elf peng and McGrubor's.
-- Elf with "near some pointy-eared ones" hides any roamer by the mountain side sout of Eagles Peak.
-- McGrubor's has a large umbrella as "somewhere in the kindom of Kandarin" may hide many trapped penguins around Seers and roamers anywhere in large Kandarin clue area.

Just one open area roamer this week, CW rock. It starts from southwest and has all the traps choose from.
Closest traps are Oo'glog boulder trap (near some ogres) and dead trees trap southwest of ZMI (west of Ardougne, in the hills). Further nort are Seers are traps: anvil, churcyard and bridge west of Sinclairs (somewhere in the kingdom of Kandarin). It may also get bumped in Keep La Faye trap (on coast, west of Ardougne) or on Catherby docks (near a mountain of wolves). Also possible are traps east of White Wolf Mountain.
Thats pretty boring actually but the fun starts with closed area penguins :P

A week of four roamers for a change. Two of them are from west and two from east.
Cw/Jiggig starts from sw and Eagles Peak starts from nw. Cw has a big chanse of getting in Oo'glog boulder trap (near some ogres). It may also find a way to the dead trees trap sw of ZMI (west of Ardougne, in the hills). The most common traps for Eagles peng are the Seers area traps in anvil, churchyard or west of Sinclairs bridge (somewhere in the kingdom of Kandarin). Also Keep Le Faye (on coast, west of Ardougne) or Catherby docks (near a mountain of wolves) may attract it.
Eastern Goblin Village peng and Ice Mountain peng are interstingly from very close to each other and from same clue area. That means quite rare competition of selftraps in east. They both have as easy routes to get in Falardor Castle bridge trap (in the kindom of Asgarnia), in area east of Draynor Manor (in the kingdom of Misthalin) as well as in Death Plateau (where Imperial guard train). Less likely but possible is also the Blue Urn trap at Digsite (in the kingdom of Misthalin).

This weeks closed area penguins cast only two umbrellas but one of them is very large.
-- Sawmill always activates "in the kindom of Misthalin" hiding any roamer on Misthalin area including some self traps.
-- Elf penguin always activates "near some pointy-eared ones" hiding a roamer in northwestern areas, by mountain side west of arandar gates and south of Eagles Peak.

It's good to remember that after recent changes any "somewhere in RuneScape" -clue points only towards northwest and a narrow stripe of land west of 3 ponds.

Not so sure of the "somewhere in RuneScape" clue any more.
Yesterday when herding Eagles once again after one of many system udpates I managed to get a clue on the "somewhere in RuneScape" clue area. The clue I got was "north of Ardougne" :|
This weeks offers perfect testing settings, as there now is no Elf penguin, Piscatoris spawns relatively close and other roamers are easy to get trapped out of the way.
