thanks for the caution, Sir Greyhawk.

As an oldster developing cataracts, good to know for when I go back to the grind.

Don't get discouraged by gratuitous dismissive commentary from anyone personally unaffected or disinterested; for every one that comments twenty times to minimize it, there will be one who is glad you said so (even if they don't say so :) )

As someone who also has the start of a cataract in one eye, I also thank you and reiterate Crone924's comment to ignore any player who dismisses an issue as irrelevant just because they don't find it a problem. Some players are not interested in anything that affects others and will gladly say that the problem is yours rather than Jagex's.

In reality, Jagex should change the colours back to the original ones as they didn't cause any problems.

You are missing the health and safety issue - if there is any part of the game that can cause you to have eyesight issues it should be removed - full stop.

It should not be left to the user to enable any mode to protect their eyesight.

The game should be programmed responsibly by people who have had the proper training to know and understand how flicker and bright blue lights effect they eyes of the end user over time.

This is standard practice.

Don't you realize RS3 Necromancy Rituals aren't the own place you need to look at the screen to play that feature?

I played this game for over 22 years and I am thankful I don't have to look at the screen to play RS3 for a lot of content. Don't remind me of old school time when I had to not just look at the screen all the time but clicked my finger off to mine coal or fish a shrimp.

I find it sad and disheartening that you have such disregard for other players health issues. It is not up to the players to fix/adjust/change their screens or settings. Jagex can easily eliminate the flashing lights. They are a real health hazard. Movies and television shows often post warnings at the beginning if there are flashing lights in the show. Countries have made laws ensuring that gaming developers and companies make the games healthy playable.

I wish you would stop being such an apologist for jagex. Just because you have no problems does not mean it's ok that OP has a health concern and you do not. Stop it just stop it

I found it sad you and disheartening that you such disregard for the general solution for every player - customization. We can all set graphics from MIN to whatever levels we prefer in RS.

Your solution is to blame the player for their health concerns. Why should any one play on min graphics. They suck. My solution is for jagex to remove the blue/purple flashing lights. They were not needed a month ago -they are not needed now. They in no way improve game play whatsoever. Please stop deflecting your answers. Why do you so disagree that the onus is on jagex to create a healthy game environment?

Customization of visual content has always been a feature of all Runescape variants since 2001. No two different Jagex players have the same health and safety concern. That's why the Gowers gave us the way to customize our own visual experience since RSC.

My solution is for Jagex to give us all kinds of customization as the Gowers laid down the foundation of all Runescape variants for all generations of Runescape player. They were need 22 years ago - they are needed even more now in 2023.

Please stop deflecting my answers. Why do you disagree that the onus has been on Jagex to create a healthy game environment for all their games through freedom and choices for every player to design their own needs including but not limited to health and safety concerns in all the games Jagex offers?

I think some players use the foil of invoking Jagex to imply that Jagex supports their personal opinion/desires/etc, much as a child will invoke Dad or Mom.

It absolves the individual from being responsible for their opinion or actions on same, and places the onus on someone or thing functionally unchallengeable, making it "fact".

The original concern is valid, as is your (and others') support of it.
