I think the dungeoneering map should show on it, for each room uncovered, what's in there (like a purple rectangle door, 103 smithing door, guardian door, what is needed to do stuff in the room itself, any keys still in there and so on)

I can understand how some may feel this is too easy if in a team one player discovers a room and others know what's in there already, so at the very least I do think for each player, the map should show the doors (and anything else in the room like missed keys and what levels needed to do stuff in the room) for rooms you have been in.

However to make it so you have to actually put in some effort for the map to show what you have discovered, make it so the way it works is when you type in public chat a certain phrase like "red corner north east", you can then right click it and select a new option (maybe only avaiable in dunge) called "information about this room", if you click it, it will then add the phrase you said (in this case red corner north east) as information that shows up when you hover your mouse (on the map) above the room you were in when you clicked to make the phrase "information about this room" you could have more than one phrase to describe any given room, and it would be ideal to have a high token cost to unlock the ability like 500k

I do hope this idea makes it in to the game, it's an update that will make you not have to worry about remembering everything in a dungeon (sometimes there's a lot to remember)

also the map should be viewable in combat, I reckon if you are in combat and click the map, it should come up and not be interrupted by combat.

another idea from Mr Dr Slayer - the information you put in to describe the rooms could optionally be viewed by other players if they wanted to see it too.

another idea to make it not too easy, make it so it only marks doors you can't open with a different colour, with no xp loss (since its not telling you whats at each door)
200m Dunge, Rc, Mage and invention accomplished, + 120 Constitution/Slayer/Range/Summoning/Woodcutting/Mining/Defence/Strength and 110m fishing, got comp/MQC and 200m Fishing/Woodcutting/Mining as well as 120 herb/Farming/Cooking most 120s just Agility, Theiving, Hunter and Prayer left

This would completely de-value thousands of peoples very hard work and make Dungeoneering completely pointless.

The idea behind Dungeoneering is so it can train your brain and require your concentration/focus, you need to work together as a team and memorize what doors are what, it's the entire point.

Jagex don't make Dungeoneering a joke to the 18,902 players that have 120 Dungeoneering.

They could have that instead of "guide mode", I think. Give it a significant, but not insane, xp penalty for doing so.

One thing I'd really appreciate is my gatestone and the group gatestone being visible on the map. I think that should be for everyone, and your idea should be the new Guide Mode. -10% xp.

And that should be for everyone too. That is just annoying. Maybe have a filtered message saying "Oi, close out of your map, a giant rat's eating your leg!"

Saphire is right.
Its all about teamwork and remembering, or communicating with your team mates and asking them.

The group gatestone could be visible on the map I agree, but your own should not. Surely you know where you dropped it. lol.

How do expect to read a map while in combat ?? No, just no.

My gripe with dung is why if im with the trader and trying to buy something, does the trade window shut just because someone opened a door or used a key elsewhere in the dungeon.

I see your points, however when there are a lot of rooms it can be impossible to remember everything sometimes, and some people are just naturally better at remembering than others, right now I'm using the developer's console to note down the locations of doors that can't be done, which makes it much easier :) .

the guide mode is much more easier because it shows you the right path, things showing on the map won't, it'll just help you know where you've been, though I'd prefer a token cost for the ability instead of xp loss.

How about making it so that to have the map show contents of rooms you've been in but with a slight xp loss, and if you don't want the xp loss from using it, you need a lot of tokens (like 500k).

I myself try to remember everything in a large dungeon but sometimes it's just impossible or no matter how hard I try, some people just naturally may not have as easy a time remembering as others, and I don't see why they should have to keep double/triple checking doors while everyone else only needs to check ones (unless returning to unlock them).

Still I think to be able to use this without xp loss, it should have a heavy token cost, 500k sounds reasonable to me.

You make a good point, however what about if someone might have either a disability or something else where they are only able to remember so many things at a time, 120 dunge isn't made a joke by catering to said players, yet still making it so you have to enter the rooms first, my idea of having to write down what's in the room on the first page as well as the token cost makes this require some effort.
