Yeah, even if all we got is the rooms on map that can't be opened marked with an X instead of a ? mark, that would be good enough for me, least that way you still have to go back to see what is needed. 200m Dunge, Rc, Mage and invention accomplished, + 120 Constitution/Slayer/Range/Summoning/Woodcutting/Mining/Defence/Strength and 110m fishing, got comp/MQC and 200m Fishing/Woodcutting/Mining as well as 120 herb/Farming/Cooking most 120s just Agility, Theiving, Hunter and Prayer left

People said the automapper was too OP so it seems to be cut content, but this would be more sane if Jagex wanted another invention thing, where players can see the contents of each room that's been opened already. (preferably including where I left those darn gatestones!) Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

With the fact Jagex said they are releasing invention in batches this would be good to see as an update for it. 200m Dunge, Rc, Mage and invention accomplished, + 120 Constitution/Slayer/Range/Summoning/Woodcutting/Mining/Defence/Strength and 110m fishing, got comp/MQC and 200m Fishing/Woodcutting/Mining as well as 120 herb/Farming/Cooking most 120s just Agility, Theiving, Hunter and Prayer left

The dung map shouldn't show the contents of particular rooms, but I think you SHOULD be able to mouse over locked doors on the map to see what kind of key it requires (but not necessarily skill doors).

Not displaying keys needed, especially in larger dungeons, just leads to a lot of superfluous running around, and can send us doubling back and forth at the end of a dungeon for little reason. It wouldn't make things easier, not even significantly more convenient. It would just cut down on some of the end-dungeon frustration and time-wasting.

Yeah that's a fair point, sometimes I can remember a small handful of key doors (for keys I don't have) at once, but sometime there's more than just a small handful which results in that problem of going back to the same door twice or more before we have the key.

what made DG so popular was that it held the best weapons at the time. people always needed to get more tokens to buy new or recharge. this created a demand for less inclined players to buy exp in the form of floors. So,if you were good enough, you could sell floors. which in my opinion, grew a pretty strong community at the time focusing on improving DG techniques, everyone was always trying to be the best.

at this time, there really are not many incentives to DG. Besides the lower levels wanting some of the items from the store, imp/necklaces maybe access to frost dragons, or of course getting 99/120/200m. and of course there are a few hundred players that just DG for the fun of it, such as myself.

DG has always been the #1 thing in RS for me. it's a skill, which actually requires skill. you can always get better at it, which for me was always an incentive.

1 - evolving map. follow players/doors opening. (perhaps there is/was a coding issue behind why they've never had an evolving map, but maybe now that were off of java it could be done.)
2 - the option to open the dung map and resize/move it for permanent placement

3 - a truly competitive side. be it an option to generate a seed, share the seed, and the seed is live for one round. as many teams can use the seed as wanted, and some sort of scoreboard to track the rankings.

I think for DG to become popular again it needs true incentive for the general player base.
maybe the competitive side could aid in this, turning DG into a true E-sport would be awesome! with the support of jagex on a competitive level, maybe it would work!

This would completely de-value thousands of peoples very hard work and make Dungeoneering completely pointless.

The idea behind Dungeoneering is so it can train your brain and require your concentration/focus, you need to work together as a team and memorize what doors are what, it's the entire point.

Jagex don't make Dungeoneering a joke to the 18,902 players that have 120 Dungeoneering.

hehehe you're funny...

I support enhanced mapping being worked into the dungeoneering code. Why? because 3rd part programs already do most of the things described here for you.(never used, don't trust 3rd party stuff)

So for those who think that high end "dungeon divers" are somehow smarter or better than the average person see my earlier remark. 3rd party programs.

Dungeoneering as a skill is a mess, we know it, jagex knows it and our ancestors digging up our remains might know this too. We learned to deal with it. We grind through the floors, get our capes and slayer tools and get outta Daemonheim.
Strength through chaos,
Peace through balance,
Justice at the edge of a blade.
