As said - all those quest changes are done for a more consistent look and feel - RS doesn't just suffer graphically from looking like it's something like 4-5 different games crammed into one (albeit they're sticking to one style for quite some time now - but everything older and not updated...), you can basically also differ quests by era without actually looking up when they were released - since they're so extremely different mechanically unless they were reworked, replaced or revamped at some later point - you can bet your bacon if one of those things would have happened to an old quest, you basically would have been stuck with new unboostable requirements as well. Romeo and Juliet required nothing - Gunnar's ground as a direct replacement enforced 5 crafting. That they just outright changed this wildly random behaviour into one singular global rule just contributes to said more consistent look and feel - that alone doesn't make a bad quest good suddenly - but it helps to get rid of part of the feeling it would belong into a different game.
Of course - a revamp is preferable to clean out even more wrong things. But Stu basically worked on more than 30 different quests for the game jam in march -
including removing unfitting requirements and adding stuff whenever needed
.
Overall - they're doing a lot into that consistency direction lately. For instance the salve amulet is getting fixed on monday to work in a lot of places, in which by pure logic it
should
work, yet doesn't. This game just can be an insane mess without the wiki even for veteran players - not to speak of novice ones. Every litte bit helps.
