Pvp is not that popular in rs3 in fact the majority of the player base would rather have wild non pvp.
PKing is not very popular because it isn't that worthwhile doing. I'm trying to change that.

If we altered all content based on what the majority wants, PVP in the wild would be removed, minigames would be removed, some skills would be removed, MTX would be removed... etc etc etc, there would be almost nothing left of the game. The game would die, along with its player base.

Not every bit of content is based around what the majority wants. It's about giving every player something they like to do. Specific content for specific players to enjoy. Sometimes not satisfying the majority's opinion (on individual content) can actually mean that more players have fun playing the game in total... as much as it sounds contradictory.

Questers have quests to do,
Minigamers have minigames to play,
Role players have their role play world,
Skillers have skills to train,
PVE-ers have PVE content,
PKers have the wild (although lacking, it's still there, and I'm striving to make it much better)
ETC.

These things shouldn't be taken away from the players who enjoy them.
One of Runescape's strongest aspects is the diversity of content. Everyone can find something that they enjoy doing in the game.

As a high level doing F2P curseds, I have no problem carrying half an invent of swordfish, a shieldbow, and blue dhide to make room for energies. As a high level member doing the same thing, I can easily bring some better gear along with a pack yak, war tortoise or some other BoB. This update will have limited effect for high levelled players, for low levels they will still be at the mercy of pkers regardless. Making energies stackable will further disincentivize pkers from frequenting the location.

Hey Anroy,

There were 2 main reasons for the changes I made.

1, so people could skill, without being at a combat disadvantage when it comes to PVP.
2, so PVP would be fair (for all combat levels).

I don't doubt that you can survive using those strategies. You will be at a huge disadvantage, when compared to the PKer though and that's what I want to change. As you described, even in your two situations (which put you well ahead of most people skilling at cursed), you only have about half the food as the PKer does. That is a considerable disadvantage. That's not fair, especially when the PKer typically risks less in the first place (protect item).

It's also not fair when a low level is spam killed by maxed mains. Almost every PKer is a maxed main now, as it's illogical to PK on something weaker. When the combat restrictions were in place, there was a much wider variety of PKers... varying account builds, varying combat levels. Diversity. The wilderness was more interesting and more fair. Unfortunately, the bots destroyed the wilderness for many and I hope that these solutions can be put in place to bring it back to how it once was.

I disagree that making energies stackable will disincentivize PKers overall. It sure will put off nooby pkers, as now the competition will be fair, but it will increase skilled PKers, as now players will be more confident to bank less frequently. They will reward a lot more when killed.

Thank you for your post.
