Grummbunger, please tell me you're kidding that you will need dung to necro.

I am almost done with that skill (118) after never having left the frozen floors, and soloed it all, over and over, to get it over with. It is not a skill. It is a minigame (which you DO need to be multi-skilled to play) with the most obnoxious time-sinks of questing, with an attempt (in the design) to force ersatz community.

I lost my enthusiasm for necro a month in with the "you WILL boss to keep advancing your gear", I really don't want to know that my least favorite "skill" of dung is going to be another forced part. Sigh

I don't think it killed the game; I like the style.
What I don't like is the forced tie to bossing, as if no one will learn or use the style without participating in ultimate combat.
I don't play for adrenaline, and it would be very nice if, having levelled the skill through ritual and combat, and then having earned the levels to make the resources to advance the gear, being prevented from doing that UNLESS I boss. So, earning it three times is the charm, starting at 70?
Right.
I'll take my time, because it simply isn't worth it to me.
I'm using necro for my slayer tasks to learn the skill, and it has made me more facile with adjusting my ability bar, and that's cool.
I've just lost interest in hurrying, because it left a bad taste in my mouth to gatekeep it with something I have never had an interest in.

Nobody force you to bossing with Necromancy as nobody forced you to bossing with the other 3 old combat styles. You can do slayer or just kill any mobs you like to with all 4 combat styles.

We can even do more stuff than slaying and killing with Necromancy too. We can at least make new potions with Herblore and new items with Rituals.

Dilbert, your selective defensive cheerleading as usual misses the point, but I shouldn't expect otherwise as you only ever make your own, over and over (and over and over and over) again.

If I want gear commensurate with my earned levels, I have the choice of bossing or, when I max, spending a few billion.

No, that doesn't FORCE me to boss.

It just provides extremely restrictive means to an end, out of all proportion to previous content. This is a whole combat style, not a trophy cape or weapon requiring extravagant unlocks. If you want to move past intermediate, you WILL boss.

Rotfl. Carry on. (and you WILL)

I don't want it deleted--lots of promise there.

(If we're starting a "delete" list, make dung a minigame, lol! It would be very popular with some, and could still have a cape that advertizes it.)

The bloom is off the rose with the way necro was constructed, launched, attempts at "balance".

Would be very nice if the good ideas came without the arbitrary/assumptive proscriptions.

Restricted means? If you have played since 2001, you would know how restricted Magic was. How much content have they added to Magic (and other combat styles too).

In a couple of weeks, we are going to see far more Necromancy content, and we didn't get any combat updates to Magic and the likes 3 months after RSC was released.

Necromancy has far more promises than old styles like Magic. We can have different schools of Necromancy and rituals to create all kinds of items, for both combat and non-combat.

Missing the point again, dear.

To use the entire style and equipment at level as one progresses, you must boss.

And where was that in general use for ANY other style, ever?

For some items and quest unlocks, yes.

To progress IN GENERAL beyond intermediate?

No.

more people WERE enjoying pvming. til they decided us killing shit a minute faster would kill the game and made t90 weapons hit like t50.

Stop with that nonsense about a t90 weapon hitting like a t50 weapon. Your conjurers are your weapon. Forget about the thing you have in your hands, and understand how a necromancy skill works. You are not fighting alone. You have other characters helping you. They have weapons. They are part of the class.
