I think a restoration would be cool.

Make the manor scarier and the area eviler.

Maybe even put a minor boss for newbs and f2p in the cellar? Maybe the minor boss is the reason the trees attack you on the manor grounds or why the manor is the only place evil turnips can be grown?

It's the first spooky place that a new player encounters! I would leave it as it is tbh, maybe make it a little spookier actually. Let it be made into a museum, but with the ghosts still showing up and spooking people in there. Let em be not-so-evil ghosts, who are just grumpy for want of peace and not go around harming people or anything, but they move the furniture around and make noises etc. Experience may be the best teacher, but necessity gives you a crash course.
