thoughts and memories that, he slowly realized, he could no longer stand to watch. As time passed, he examined every horror he had performed with growing disgust, growing understanding, growing sadness. It was one day when he realized; this was his purgatory. For all he had done, he was experiencing the punishment. He understood.

From that day a strange calm had settled over the former Warlord. What weapons lay unbroken he took to his hands once again, and he practiced with a solemn focus he had never before had. His patience had become infinite, his mind expanded, his soul cleansing itself of taint through solitude. He would become better.

And one fateful day, one long awaited day, light shone through new cracks in the wall.

Other: Gideon doesn't speak much anymore.

While it is dusty, rusty and more than a little battered Gideon's armour has survived the long years of isolation. A full suit of heavy, steel plated armour covers his skeletal form from head to toe, exposing nothing but the white glow of his eyes through the visor of his helmet. Chances are it will sooner break than withstand the stress of repairs, but it is a second skin to Gideon, even as grey, stained and ancient as it is.

There was never 'just one' weapon for Gideon. He was a warrior, and as a warrior he had to know how to use any weapon that found its way into his hand. Sword, axe, hammer, spear, it didn't matter, whatever melee weapon he grasped, he knew how to use. Thus, buried with his many arms, only a few have withstood the long years. A rusty bastard sword, chipped dagger, dulled battleaxe and worn maul remain useable. But in such a state, it likely won't be for long.
I am Inferi.

Analee

Analee was very brave to want to embark on such a grand, epic adventure, especially since she was forced to be stuck at home for half her life. Perhaps there was also some wanderlust in her, but the will to save her people was surely the main reason, the result of compassion.

“Well, it's about a week's walk from here, at least, but there are a few shortcuts to get there faster.” Talarin replied, but then he seemed to read Analee's face. “But yeah... let's go a shirt distance away form this creepy place, and set-up camp somewhere for a while. I bet Buruk's really hungry anyways, and there's good hunting spots in this area.”

A few hours later, Talarin went to a nice grove of trees, with a spring nearby. The ground here was thickly grown with flowers and ferns, making a comfy place to lie on. It was morning, but not so cold that they needed to make a survival shelter.

“This is a good spot, and deer come here to drink sometimes. We'll rest here for the day. I'll go out hunting while you rest, I'm not tired, and hungry anyways.” Talarin said; Analee nodded.

After Analee fell asleep sometime later, she had another dream. But it was unlike her previous dreams. In this dream, she stood in a void of blackness, but could see stars and galaxies overhead, as if she was standing far into the night sky. Everywhere she looked, she saw what appeared to be aurora-like waves of light, gently flowing and releasing bright blue starlight-like ember-like things that fluttered. She felt these auroras flowing through her body, causing her body to tingle strongly.

Up ahead, she could see some sort of monster, looking like a silhouette, apparently fading into this world from nothingness, as if the immense beast was lying out a hole, invisible, causing whatever was inside of it to also be invisible. The monster was quite huge, at least thirty feet tall, and, apparently, sleeping.

Analee could hear it breathing heavily and deeply. Behind it were yellow galaxies streaking across the blackness.

Although this was a dream, it felt pretty real, and all of a sudden, Analee found herself standing before the silhouette of the giant sleeping monster; was it a huge Darkbeast? She could see its outline, and it seemed to be sleeping over arms folded under its cheek, like a cat. Then, she heard the monster grumble, and it awoke, most of its body brightening up into glowing whiteness, revealing that it looked like:

What a beast he was, though he did not look threatening, and his antlers were quite small for such a beast he was. The monster then yawned, and sat like a cat, arms crossed over one another, then he raised one arm to rest his head on the raised hand. He seemed to be eyeing Analee warily.

“You... you are the one I dreamt of.” the beast spoke, and although his voice was just extremely deep grumbling, he could speak telepathically at the same time, so amidst his rumbling, his spoke to Analee with a deep, rich, strong voice in her head, which was so strong, it felt like it was bouncing her brain around. “That means... you are one of the Scions, unless I am still dreaming. What is your name?” the monster asked, cocking his head, patiently waiting an answer...

Miranda and Poca

As Midnight galloped, Poca cast fire into the ground, which caught the grasses and plants on fire, which produced much smoke. There was enough dead grass for the flames to grow. The boars oinked and squeaked, afraid, but their riders forced them to run forth, the big pigs squealing as they hopped over the growing flames.

Midnight cantered to the left, then galloped down the path winding through old-growth trees. There was an occasional branch in the way, whipping across the horse's face, but he had to press on. The boars continued the chase, branches sometimes slapping into the riders as the boars ran.

Poca cast some fiery magic at the boars. There were five of them, so she cast five times at them over the course of the chase, and... her magic struck two Vaal'Amar who failed to swerve out of the way, the three others doing so successfully. The flames burned the two Vaal'Amar, enough to make them panic and jump off their boars; the riderless boars continued running with the others.

Up ahead, they were approaching the old wooden bridge crossing the river. It was ugly and ancient, definitively dry enough to be flammable. Midnight galloping, and so always staying out of the boar rider's reach, the steed ran through the bridge, Poca casting hot flames out both hands at either side, the flames flowing upon the bridge and soon embers formed, an the flames grew.

The riderless boats, upon smelling smoke and flames, squealed and ran off to the sides, whilst the boar riders kicked their heels and pressed onward, though the boars squeaked and oinked, and unable to bear the thought of running through a burning bridge, the three boars turned, one losing footing and falling down, rolling over his rider. The flames of the bridge grew high enough for crossing to be impractical. The chase was over.

A short while later, Miranda sighed with relief, and Midnight slowed down to a walk. What a crazy day. She thought she heard Poca say something, but Miranda suddenly felt sleepy and dizzy, so much so, she soon fell off Midnight, falling against her shoulders and rolling over; she lost consciousness...

Miranda found herself in a world of endless blackness, dotted with many twinkling stars, galaxies, and waves of auroras flowing through her. She realized she was standing before a bright dragon, with scales casting streaks of white light, or perhaps the dragon was covered with bristles? The dragon was sitting down, like a cat, elbows down and one hand under his cheek. He looked like:

Standing before the dragon was someone else, but that person did not seem to notice Miranda. The dragon nodded to the person, then looked at Miranda, making eye contact.

“Who are you? Tell me your name.” the dragon spoke, voice grumbling, yet he spoke to her telepathically with a deep, rich voice that she could understand, however, the telepathic voice was quite powerful, giving her a headache even in a dream! She...

Gideon Steelwrought – Prologue

Life divides man, death unites man. Rapacity, bloodlust, chaos, defeat, death... the Butcher's awakening was a long, dark, lonely one, but long disasters teach humility. As his old tomb gradually cracked open, Gideon suddenly felt himself feel... out of breath? That can't be right, he was undead, he can't breathe. Despite being brainless, literally, he felt himself lose consciousness after one hundred and ninety one years. Could the undead dream?

He dreamt of a mighty stone throne, and seated on it, some sort of knight wearing rusty plate armour, and like he, this knight was also undead. The skeletal knight sat while leaning forwards, arms on the arms of the throne, and before the feet of the knight, were several crowns, broken asunder. The ground was dark, covered with ashes and broken weapons, armour, skulls, and other bones.

Then, he heard a slow whooshing noise, so he turned around, and beheld what seemed to be a horizontal chasm, revealing the blackness of space, stars, galaxies, and, apparently, silhouettes of ruins. The ruins seemed to depict fallen and broken statues, temples, pillars, headstones, arches, and whatnot.

Walking towards the ruins, was a huge figure, at least twenty feet tall, a giant armoured figure, whose helm was so tall and had three pairs of eye slits, with a few crowns pressed into one another set atop the helm. Sticking out his back were giant spider's legs, curling forwards around him. Several silhouettes of others seemed to be oblivious to the huge figure, who approached them from behind...

Then, he saw something else: eternal shadows that enveloped everything, and the dream changed to blackness. He felt himself sinking into this darkness, and the farther he descended, the more he felt like he was being watched. Soon, pairs of eyes popped here and there, big, white, round eyes, that glowed, just like his own. The pairs of white eyes appeared here and there, until they were all around, a mass of white glowing eyes.

He gradually saw silhouettes, but could not make out who or what they were exactly. They made grinding noises with their teeth, and slowly closed in on him from all directions... as they neared, he saw that the beings seemed to be wearing heavy armour, armour that was black and shiny, like the shells of black beetles, like obsidian, their armour fashioned to look like a skeleton, wielding weapons of the same material. Some of the armoured silhouettes were quite huge, like lupine ogres. So many foes... how could he defeat all of them by himself?

Then, he felt something else, coming from far, far below... the plights of innocents wailed underneath him, silhouettes stretching out to him to be saved, wanting the chance at life once again. Did he want to save them? But he had to fight his many foes! Surely, if he dove down into the darkest shadows, to save those below him, his many foes would amass upon him...

As the dream ended, Gideon's tomb would soon break apart, and he would be set free. His shining white eyes would, after so long, embrace sunlight...

Poca felt tired from the battle, and the escape. She felt very happy that the chase was finished that's when she saw the girl go unconsciousness and fall off the horse. She made the horse stop moving and ran to the girl. She looked at her and she saw the wound on her head. She cleaned the wound and then made a bange and wrap the wound. Then she realized that she was injured too and did the same for her wound. After that she made camp and waited for her to wake. She also stood gaurd just in case someone attacks them. -Dances-

Gideon Steelwrought – Awakening

That dream... it felt so real, it must have been a vision, a vision of the future, but when exactly, he could never know. The cracks gradually grew, more and more sunlight shining through. He overheard echoing screeching and hissing, sounding off in the distance. Gradually, he could see... feint brown-coloured stonework (probably sandstone) of walls, both sides having archways, sunlight shining in from the left wall. His tomb seemed to be inside a larger structure.

He heard chunks and bits of stone flicking off and flying about, bouncing down the chamber, striking walls, and shattering against surfaces. He did not really know what was going on, but soon, he sat up, shaking his head, helm fluttering with dust and sand. Once everything settled, he saw:

Whatever this thing was, his magic was gradually breaking apart Gideon's tomb, the swirling streams of darkness surely powerful. This was definitely a kakomancer of some sort, but since he levitated easily, and his eyes glowed blue, he was also a powerful psionic for sure. Gideon was unsure of what exactly this being was, but he seemed to be Unhallowed as well.

“Time to go,” the being said, gesturing with his head, speaking with a voice that sounded as if it was being spoken through a pipe, “the Darkbeasts are coming for you, I came just in time. Prepare to fight.”

The hissing and screeching sounded again, echoing down from beyond the chamber that consisted of the Butcher's tomb, but he was unsure if his tomb was part of a larger structure or a mausoleum itself. Since the echoing was distant, there would be some time for a few questions if Gideon was unsure or did not remember much. This being who awoke him did not look like his old demon-necromancer friend.

Analee

A weeks walk seemed like a long time to Analee. She turned and faced another direction, looking off in the distance. Who knew what dangers would lie ahead for them. Atleast she had Talarin. She tinted and looked back at him as he suggested to make camp. "Yes, the further from this place, the better."

After walking for a few hours, they finally arrived at a decent spot to set up camp. It was a nice grove of tree with flowers growing widely everywhere. Analee took a set, leaning against kne of the trees. Buruk walked up next to her and laid down, resting his head on her leg. "Ok. Be carful" she told him as Talarin ventured away. Analee looked towards the sky as her eyes slowly began to close.

Analee began to dream again, but this dream wasn't like the one before. She felt like she was awake on this dream, as though all of it was really happening outside her mind. Right before her was an outline of a monster, one in which looked to be 30 feet tall. What was it? The next thing she knew, she was brought up to it.

She watched as the monster awoke. She watched as it say up. To her, it didn't appear to be dangerous. There was something about it that drew Analee in.

As the monster spoke, she heard its words although it didn't move its mouth. "I'm Analee of the woodland tribe." She spoke back without moving her mouth. "Who are you and what is a scion?" She asked as she wondered why a beast would dream of her.
