Rue's blood pumped in her ears, her scalp was hot - her long blue hair not doing much to filter out the shafts of sunlight - and the deep cut on her arm wasn't healing. She was running from THEM, her long legs taking her farther through the forest in a minute than a human could run in ten. The sky was bright red, the sun which refused to set was rippling in the dry air, it bored black points into the corner of Rue's vision.
She closed her eyes for reprieve but had to reopen them quickly, narrowly swinging around a tree as opposed to crashing into it. Behind here, the dark ones followed, tendrils lashing, red eyes shining, teeth gnashin*. She held a scroll highly in her hands, it was tied closed with brown string and a green feather. Blood dripped form her arm dejectedly. "Actino, what will this achieve?" She said to herself, rasping. Rue direly wished that the STARD was able to teleport quickly. Or she would have brought upon it a swarm of unbeatable enemies. "Just, please find Dalnius…" She whispered again. The chase continued, ever closer to the STARD.

Dust and Sparks, Ashes and Rain
Why must I fight these foes again?
- From the journal of Dalnius Tarnen Darkcoil
Dalnius lay beside the obsidian throne, flanked by dark ones, face down, unable to stand. Nyx had survived the destruction of his world, and she had come to Gielinor. Dalnius couldn't move, but it wasn't because of poison or venom, he wasn't tied in rope or magic or spiderweb. To put it simply; he was scared. Nyx spoke. "Tell me, Demi-god; is there anyone on this world that can stop me?" Dalnius thought a name, but he clenched his jaw and didn't speak.
His eyes watched the shadowy being that sat on the throne. Nyx. The shadows curled around him, but the sun didn't set. "All of them." He finally laughed. "You are nothing here, nothing but a shadow-" An arm of shadow - mostly definitely solid - hit the back of Dalnius's head and he was unconscious, to be plagued by nightmares. But alive.
