The vines pried Shiro out of the cliff, and he quickly jumped in the direction of the monster's abdomen. The beast itself ignored the lightning and smashed his fist into the cliff. The cliff was crushed like it was a small rock. The beast directed its attention to Annie. His massive hand was coming down to crush her. Shiro's eyes glowed a bright golden. He appeared to push himself quicker off of the air. His legs bent and unbent quickly and a massive sonic boom flew in the opposite direction. He swung his sword heavily at the abdomen of the beast. When he made contact blood splattered from the gut, but the wound wasn't more than a scratch to the monster. Shiro's hands went numb as if he had struck a diamond with a metal bat.
"He's not invincible... just stronger than anything we've seen before," Shiro muttered. The beast winced and let out a deafening shriek as his hand pulled away from Annie. Shiro felt the blood trickle from his ears and down the sides of his neck. Even if they could survive, they wouldn't defeat this beast. Whatever it was was far beyond their capabilities. Shiro just hoped they could find a way to escape.
