Surmantis pulled his rapier out of the pile of ashes that had been Marry.

"I'm fine. More than I can say for her."

Surmantis dug two shallow graves for the pile of ashes and for the now-lifeless demon in the suit of armor.

Zaku looked out the window.

~ Why does surmantis always bury people that he kills..?

Norzak went in the inn looking tired and went up to his room. Hes wounds bandaged himself.

Lore mumbled but didn't move...

Lily was at the bar with her head laid down, she was sleeping a bit.

Surmantis heaped dirt over the graves.
That was six since he'd been here, and there were a few he hadn't buried.

He saluted first Marry, and said, "Goodbye sweetie."
Then he turned and saluted the armored one.
"I didn't know who you were, but you packed a helluva wallop. Goodbye."

Zaku fell asleep on a nearby chair for a few minutes. He used alot of energy today.

Kain walked outside to see a guy talking to new graves ~whoah what did I miss?~ he thought and walked over to the guy "What happened?" he asked

Midnight looked to see two people standing around some graves, and walked over, "Hi," she murmred.

Kain just suddenly got a wave of tiredness and went back to go to sleep

Midnight walked off.

Zaku joilted back up from another nightmare.

" Man.. thats anoying.. Lore seemed like he was still asleep so he went outside.

" Do you have any idea what the heck that steel metel thing was? The other guys seemed like they were not on its side.

The young woman strode down the path to the Inn.
She was fair-skinned and haired, had piercing green eyes, and was wearing a lavender-colored dress.

Zaku glanced at her for a second.

" Do you have any idea who that is? He whisperd to surmantis

Surmantis looked almost shocked.
"That's the Witch."

" The witch u were talking about when u were teleported?

Surmantis was backing away.
"This is definitely not good."

" Great.. just great..You think shes gonna start something right now?

Surmantis shot a glance at Zaku.
"What do you think?"

There was a knock on the door.

Surmantis assumed the air of one who knew he was going to die soon, walked over, and opened the door.

Zaku was ready but looked like he wasnt doing anything. He siting on a chair nearby the door where surmantis was.

The Witch gave a dazzling smile, giving no sign that she recognized Surmantis.
"Why good afternoon gentlemen."

She stepped inside and shut the door behind her with a delicate and well manicured hand.

Kain was standing on the stairs watching he had his dried meat in his had and his great axe in the other.

Zaku just nodded sillently. He was still very tired from before.

The Witch looked around.
"Would anyone care to show me to my room?"

She focused on Zaku.
"Surely a kind man like you would carry my bag for me."

She waved her hand and a small traveling pack appeared.
She smiled disarmingly.
"Just a little trick."

Zaku wonderd if he was old enough to be considerd a man but did what she asked.

The Witch walked up the stairs and began to walk down the hall to an empty room, leaving Surmantis to wonder if all the women in his life were evil.

Kain just watched he slowly changed into a little mouse his axe and meat disappeared and he was now a small mouse he had sworn he wouldn't do it again but he wanted to spy he scampered up the stars and followed the witch.

Zaku followed her carrying the bag.

" May i ask whats in here?

The Witch smiled breezily.
"Oh, just a few odds and ends."

She walked into the room, and as Zaku followed she looked around.

~ Great.... Zaku thought.

He made a small hand motion behind his back.

Kain continued following her he quickly scampered by her feet and hid underneath the bed.

Lore yawned and slowly woke up and yawned. "Umm... where am I?" Lore said rubbing his eyes and yawned again.

The Witch's voice suddenly became hypnotically sweet.
Like the smell of rotting meat.

"What do you know about that other man downstairs?"

Zaku put the bag down.

" Who? That man that let you in..? Not much i just got here a little while ago..

The Witch sent a small wave of pain through Zaku's skull.
"Don't lie to me."

The voice was still very sweet, but had more than a ihint of menace behind it.

~what is she after?~ kain wondered and scampered closer to the edge of the bed to hear better.

" Ow... Well.. what do you wanna know about him?

Zaku tryed to think of a counter spell to that spell she used on him.

Lore looked around and found nobody besides Lily was around but she appeared to be asleep... "Uhh... I feel pretty weird..." Lore mumbled and laid back down.

The Witch's voice became normal again.
"Oh never mind, I just like to know about everyone."

She began to unpack her bag.

" Okay then.." Zaku backed out the door ran down the hall triped on his tail and fell down the stairs.

" Oww.... "

He looked up.

" Oh lore your awake.. Fealing better?

"Lore looked over, he was still a bit dazed and confused. "Umm... I guess... what happened."

" Sarah and the others ran off.. You were out cold so i brought you in here and healed you to the best of my ablity..

"Oh... that's too bad... I liked Sarah... as a friend." Lore said rubbing his head and sitting back up.

Kain scurried out of the bed and under the door he changed back into his normal form he still had his axe and meat he put his meat away and strapped the axe to is back he then went downstairs

Zaku looked confused but assumed it was another sort of insult.

" She might be back..

Another vister called Kam looked to the building, it didn't look that different from anything else she had seen. ~Wonder what it is~ She rubbed on of the cuts on her arm, it wasn't bleeding too bad now. Kam opened the door and looked around. "Hello?"

Zaku waved at her. He looked very tired.

Kam wrapped a peice of the bottom of her pants around her arm as she walked over. "Hi, who are you?"

" Im zaku.." He said lazily.

He tryed to keep himself awake.

" Who are you? " He asked her.

"I'm Kam." She said raising her eyebrow. "You okay?"

Lore laid back down and sighed sleepily... he wondered were Calliope was.

" Well.. considering that i had to take on a crazy metel thing from hell then fight a crazy girl called sarah..

He yawned.

" Then heal lore then get zaped by a witch and then i fell down the stairs.. Im okay.. "

He had a stupid grin.

Zaku looked out the window. It was geting dark.

" That witch lady is scarey..

Kain walked up "tell me about it." he groaned "She is one scary chick"

" What were you following us?

"yup, I like to know what's going on." kain explained "That way I'm ready for anything."

" Hmph works for me.. I admit im what humans call nosey to.. He said smirking and grabed a book he had already read.

" Anyway just keep your guard up with her around..

"I realized that," kain said "what's your name?" he asked interested but also gaining information "I'm kain just in case you were wondering."

Lore was sitting on the couch staring at the ceiling... he was board to tears.

" Zaku auki but just call me zaku . I Think your the guy that saved me from those other demons in the forrest awhile ago. I might of been killed if you didnt show up.

He grined as he remeberd.

" You were watching lore and his sister have that lovely chat with me to.

"yep, that was me," kain said "I like knowing what's going on." he explained "your a demon if I remember correctly?" he asked

Lore began kicking the back of the couch for no reason, he was sitting upside down so his head was laying on the floor.

"I thought You would know by my red skin and pointed tail. " Zaku said smirking.

He fliped a page to the book and laughed slightly.

"true and yet I can have that too." kain said and after 30 seconds his skin changed colour and he grew a tail "I'm a Shifter," he explained "I can change anything about me my voice, anything."

" Lucky.. He said smileing and put the book away.

" I have to ware these silly robes and a mask.. That is now broken.. Whenever i go to human villages..And i wonder if it makes me look even more strange.

"lucky?" kain asked "I'm not sure about that one.." kain said his voice trailing off "all my race is dead."

Lore began gnawing on the couch... he didn't know why, he just felt like it...

" I kinda wish my race was dead..

His eyes glanceing to the window for a second.

" Lore why the hell are you biteing the couch..?

Kain looked over lore was indeed gnawing on the couch "what the heck?" he muttered laughing a little.

"*mumbles* becaws... thas ain't *spits a lump of fuzz out of his mouth.* nothing to do around here." Lore said tiredly and went back to chewing the arm of the couch.

Kain looked at him funny "taste good?" he asked "i've never tried couch before..." kain said jokingly

Zaku looked at lore with a strange look.

" Its kinda hard to be afraid of someone that bites the couch..

He laughed a little.

" Next time you lift me by the collar and threaten me im gonna be laughing because ill never get that image of you out of my head.

Zaku burst out laughing just seeing him

Lore shot him a annoyed look. "You try finding something interesting to do this late at night." Lore let loose a little yawn and turned into a small dragon and curled up on the couch and fixed a glare at Zaku.

Kain just laughed ~not every day you see a guy that eats couches~ he thought to himself and pulled out his little silver book.

" Well.. This late at night people normaly go to sleep dont they..? Unless your a werewolf..

There were noises comeing from narzaks room like glass was breaking.

" Zaku looked back at the dragon omost thinking he looked cute if he wasnt giveing him a glare of death.

Lore finally broke the glare and began scratching his head with his leg like a dog would do, then he stopped and curled up, he almost looked like a spiky, scaly ball.

Kain quitley whispered the words "czar texor trakand sute cruta" or "open and reveal your secrets" the book slowly unlocked itself and its pages dropped towards the table of contents.
