She ran straight up to the werewolf.
Teegan stopped, and, seeing her sister within striking distance of the creature, yelled at the top of her voice. With a spell on the ready, she dashed back.
Sukrae ran with her, his swords glinting in the sun. Twenty feet away, Teegan lifted her staff, ready to throw the spell.
"No!" screamed Taena, leaping in front of the werewolf, "No! Don't cast!"
"Why not?" Teegan called back, confused.
"Come here!" Taena yelled.
Sharing a puzzled look, Sukrae and Teegan walked slowly foward, stopping ten feet away. From there they could see that the werewolf didn't seem to be doing anything, and appeared to be quite safe to approach. "Are you sure it's safe?" Teegan asked, examining the deadly creature.
"Quite sure."
"Alright then, I guess." Cautiously, Teegan walked up to it, dagger still in hand. It didn't do anything. Sukrae had followed her, his swords ready to strike.
The wolf's skin seemed to shift, and its fur disappeared rapidly. Its fangs drew up, and its limbs grew human.
Soon there wasn't a wolf. In its place was a man, around twenty, with black hair and dark blue eyes. The only wolflike thing he had was his teeth, which were sharper than a human's, like all werewolves'. His skin was lightly tanned, and he wore black pants and tunic, which were bloodstained and torn. The man was quite handsome, even with his overly pointy teeth, and he grinned at Sukrae and Teegan's surprised faces.
"Well," said Taena, smiling, "meet my fiancé, Brant. Brant, this is my sister Teegan, and Sukrae, who has come with us."
"That's Brant?!" asked Teegan, eyes growing wide.
"Yes. You've never met him, have you?"
"No, I haven't. But you didn't tell me he was a . . ."
Brant broke in, still smiling, "A werewolf?"
"Yes."
